Disable the evil feature called "Crosshair" !

Hello my beloved community !
Im here to offer you a suggestion about ranged battle.
Most of you noticed the increase of archers, xbowman or throwers on EU servers i assume.
Reasons could be :
They do quiet good damage from range.
They are not that expansive.
You can do quiet good with specific builds.(15-24 strongbow HA,18-21 longbow/yumi for example)
It's fun because people cannot block your attacks,so killing an unskilled peasant newbie or a duel master beast do have same difficulties for you.
You don't have to practice a lot because it is simple.
Press left click wait till the crosshair gets tight then release.
Killing an immobilized target with a bow doesn't require any practice or skill cuz of the damn crosshair.
Disable that evil feature and let archers practice their timing to be good !
It would make archery more fun i think.
Mastering your archery skills would be hard as other classes  (1h,2h,polearm,cav...) if you disable crosshair.
Share your thoughts please...

What?  There are these things called shields, they block projectiles, perhaps you should invest in one.  Also, maybe you haven't heard of the projectile drop ranged users suffer from trying to shoot at anything further than ~40 feet away.

And sneaky people will simply "stick" a crosshair on their screen...
A lot of people in the NA community know that Dach rages and in the process of his uncontrollable rage, he tends to kick people.

You've been warned!

There are these things called slot system, dedicated 2hander,polearm or cav builds they don't allow you to carry a shield. Also, maybe you haven't heard of the melee should run all those 40 feets while you shoot at them...
Sorry but this game has more classes than 1handers and archers.
Well sticking a crosshair wouldn't change anything because you should make the perfect timing to be accurate on bow.
It is too damn easy on M&B sadly tho.

I don't think this would be a good idea. You would normally know where you are aiming your weapon, and in addition you would know how jittery your hands have become from holding the bow drawn for an extended period.

Instead, anybody spawning with a bow should have 10 seconds to drop their bow before their head spontaneously combusts. Same for anybody picking a bow form the ground.

Use cover, don't run straight at them, find a buddy with a shield to give you cover, there's any number of things you can do to get close and once you are that ranged person is mincemeat.  They're often in very thin armor and go down in 1 hit from your giant sword or axe.

Damug i would like to know your thoughts about disabling crosshair.
This is not a whining topic , i am suggesting something and i would like to see your response .
I don't need your tips,suggestions like "use cover,get a shield" etc.

I think it is an awful idea, mostly because it's hard enough to hit anything at range as it is since you have to aim well above the target.  If you hate ranged combatants, play on a server with it disabled, like tunatown.

It's useless cos anybody could reactivate the crosshair (or scotch the screen).

chadz released some ss where crooshair was disabled, but it was not implemented.

I think i would try out archer if this was implemented sounds alot more fun its the same system they have in Age of chivalry

But the wave of whinning from all the CS players will never make it happen....

Touche but its rather fun playing without crosshair makes your kills that much more intense just like in red orchestra and BF2 bad company hardcore mode ect ect...

Just my thoughts  :P

Buff their dmg on bows and throw and remove the crosshair ftw
I've never played a server where people split up as much or as often as on EU1.  No wonder range is having a field day.

Another classic case of someone only noticing the projectiles that hit them.

Most of you noticed the increase ... throwers

Ahahaha no, there were very few throwers over recent months, and after the last 2 patches even this has dropped to pretty much nothing.

Quote
They do quiet good damage from range.
Throwing must be done from point blank as the accuracy is TERRIBLE and if you miss or hit a shield that is one of your 6 shots gone for the game.

Quote
They are not that expansive.
Throwing weapons are some of if not THE most expensive weapons in the game if you compare damage to cost.

Quote
You can do quiet good with specific builds.(15-24 strongbow HA,18-21 longbow/yumi for example)
No build can save dedicated throwing at the moment.

Quote
It's fun because people cannot block your attacks,so killing an unskilled peasant newbie or a duel master beast do have same difficulties for you.
Get a shield? Learn to evade shots? An unskilled peasant will be far less able to dodge and keep moving in random ways than someone who has more experience, even full strength tincans can dodge arrows if they know are coming.

Quote
You don't have to practice a lot because it is simple.
Well apart from the whole having to learn tactical positions on the map, target selection, range finding...etc...etc...
This is even worse for throwers because if you miss or worse hit the wrong target it is very difficult or flat out impossible to get your ammo back and you have next to none of it.

Quote
Press left click wait till the crosshair gets tight then release.
The throwing crosshair NEVER gets tight, a horse can ride through it.
