Whatever you build, buy it from Ebay. By far the cheapest way to get electronics to Baltics.

Sorry broke the chain of potatoes. :[

Motherboard
Graphics Card - GTX 660
PSU - Corsair 500w
Processor - AMD FX-6300
HDD - 1TB WD Caviar Blue
RAM - Corsair 2 x 4GB
Case
Optical Drive
Windows 8

This all comes out to about $730 so even cheaper in euros. But I feel like this is pretty cheap and it can play all the newest games on ultra or even at a constant 60+ fps if you put them only on high/medium for something like BF4.

I'm actually planning on building with these parts myself.

I'd generally suggest buying a nice graphics card - out of personal experience.

My cpu is rather old but runs stable overclocked @ 3.6GHz (Core 2 Duo E8600 stock @ 3.2GHz).

My graphics card is a HD6870 which probably is faster than my cpu provides but I noticed that modern games are kinda stuck on the amount of cpu they use and go way heavier on graphic power. So, my suggestion basicly is: if you need to save money, don't do it on the graphics card.

Hey good luck Latvian with your custom build. I'd recommend getting a nice Nvidia card and a Intel processor if you can :) I am also tired of playing on laptop but I dont have monies atm, maybe you can share your bounty from sailing the seven seas? :D

AMD is promising great things with Mantle, but like with everything AMD it's only a promise...

Intel i7-4771K
16 GB DDR3 RAM
GeForce GTX770
250 GB SSD
PSU SS620 or TT800W
Windows Pirate Edition*
Case Corsair

You'll be able to install SteamOS on this can and I'm certain that fine chap from Trieste will have to port his engine to Linux in near future
