WTF is up with the shooting through shield?

Trust me, I've seen so many xbow nerfs. Furthermore, I'm one of the front lobbyists to nerf ranged including crossbows. Anyway, I don't play often this year and even if they make xbows completely unplayable - I'll just switch to melee build and there will be other tears

This discussion has been up I bet several times in the past. I don't really care about why and how you can shoot thru it, its a frikkin class breaking garbage mechanic and I cannot comprehend why the heck it haven't been removed or changed in some way! And dave you still need to stop the lame wank! you know what I mean! give me a fight instead of the queer exploiting. this is semi-cheater tears. please use another weapon and farm the other tears you mentioned. you will not get those from me. Dave, I might not be here as long as you are. But I've seen you rage plenty of times, even rage quit the game because of silly thing such as rain or devs not caring about your work on the mod. Which is perfectly normal. Just don't understand why are you saying him to be chill when you had your own "moments".

I never quit because of rain or devs not caring about my work, I just withdrew my application. Sure, I have my "moments", sometimes these moments take months and that was the perfect irony to post that video I quit the mod only once for like 8 months when they made a lot of silly things (like forced bugged first person for crossbows and other things) but they fixed it and I came back occasionally. Now I simply don't have time to play.

I never mind to die in melee. Its because I screwed up or the other player is better than me. Xbow is just cheap, it takes a special mentality to take satisfaction in those kills when you're actually good at the game without it. Then you add that you don't really have requirements so you can hybrid good melee builds with them, just makes no sense they do the damage they do for such little input from the player

Huscarl's don't have enough resistance to protect properly against xbows (read arbalests).  Suit yourself however.  I've never once had a projectile penetrate through my knighlty heater shield.

4 shield skill shields are the best shields in the game (well just the knightly heater & knightly kite, possibly would include plate covered round shield)

I can only speak from personal experience.  When I had only 3 shield skill and a kite shield, my shield got shot through some times.  I was quite surprised because I was not used to this.

Now I have 4 shield skill and a heavy kite shield, and it never gets shot through.  Sometimes my foot may get hit, or my head if I"m holding the shield too low -- but I have not experienced a shield penetration yet though many have tried.

It's kinda funny how almost all shields can be shot THROUGH by crossbows, while the few who can't are easily shot around/above/below.

It's fucked up that having a shield is usually worse than not having one when you are going against ranged.

Yeah, a shield shouldn't give you COMPLETE cover against ranged, but full FRONTAL cover is something completely different. Gotta agree with Teeth.

It is an unnecessary mechanic that makes shielders a less effective counter to crossbows than they should be. Having a shield should mean safety from being shot from the front period.

I was just saying that getting shot through a knightly heather is not impossible.
