No, please NO.

I often need a horse. If people would gain kills for killing horses, they would do that every time they spot a horse: no mater I WHISTLED for that horse or not: they will just kill him when he rides straight at me... And bum, I am screwed.

NO.

Just NO.

We're talking about points for horses mounted by an enemy, not random horses with no rider.

Duke: if devs implement it, they will do that in the easiest way around. And coding such a complicated suggestion (horse kills, but only if mounted by enemy) is quite a lot of work.

A dismounted rider is an event. Not a lot of work. The issue is whether they can track where the damage came from that triggered the event.

If you want a horse, spawn one. It's stupid to leave one standing  near a group of friendlies. Why? Friendly riders are across the map killing the enemy. The only person that is going to use that horse is the ENEMY cavalry that you just dismounted. He's going to simply run over, mount and ride off laughing, thanking you for having a spare mount standing by for him to escape upon.

Amount of times an enemy lancer manages to steal my horse. 3, 4 times. Amount of times my teammates whistle my horse away and slash it down ... lots. Seriously, the one thing that stops dragoon tactics from being useful is your own retarted horse butcher team.

Riderless horses...

Pro:
- Can be used by own team-mates to be ridden.
- Can block enemy-projectiles.
- Can block bots.
- Can bump enemies.

Contra:
- Can bump teammates.
- Can be used by enemies to be ridden.

Many times I have been about to mount a horse only to have it struck out from under me by my own team, which sometimes causes me damage too! Another thing I RAGE about is spawning on horseback, only to have my own team mates strike my horse and sometimes me. If you guys are so enraged that you need to strike something, go for the enemy!
If I see an enemy going for a horse I will try to call it away from them, or kill it if the enemy was a rider just unhorsed.

The horses are valuable to your teams riders, so take this into consideration when you are just rage killing them.

To begin with, I am a dedicated cavalry player and I understand that it would probably be even harder to keep my horse alive if this was implemented.
But it is fair and I actually like the idea. Some rounds I just dismount some cavalry players without getting any kills so this would not only benefit the score of archers and pikeman.

As I understand it, the problem is about some players (mainly archers) getting a bad score while doing a good job.
I agree it is not "fair" that an archer who dismounts top cavalry players get a worse score than an archer on peasant hunt.
But even if this would be implemented archers would still get a bad score.

What would really make the score system "fair" is to add both assists and fuckups:
You can only get one assist per enemy (or enemy mounted horse) no matter have many times you inflict damage. The same goes for fuckups which is the other way around (hurting teammates or friendly horses).
However I don't think that such a system would be very good performance wise (too much pressure on the servers). I don't even know if it could be eimplemented but it surely would be nice.

On EU3 you get your arrows back when you kill a horsie - without rider.

the engine can make a diffence between a horse with a rider and a solo horse, in native a mounted horse can't bump friendly people but an unmounted horse can bump people, same goes for killing a mounted friendly horse an an unmounted one`. so it is possible to only gain assists when a horse is mounted . that solves one problem

Interesting idea.
I play a lot with the 2-attacks polearms and horses are my primary targets. With a rider, without a rider I do not care - if it has hoofs it dies. To the friendly cavs I apologize, but when I hear those hoofs thumping my blood boils and I sometimes hit first and look for the icon later. It is just that the view of the beast and rider falling flat on their faces, plowing a line in the grass with their noses is so satisfying. Much more than simply killing a foot player.

you can
He was talking about without killing them. Like if hit by something when turning or high speed they fall off, damaged but still alive.

Turning around and killing a friendly horse when you hear hoofbeat behind you while your fighting is not the problem. People teamattakc by accident a lot of times or they didn't have enough time to see the banner. The annoying thing is all those FUCKERS who attack friendly horses just after spawn because they  are angry at horsemen (and because they have small dicks, sucks at playing, have gender issues, doesn't understand basic teamwork or have no sense of mutual benefits and cooperation). Those people are the ones I wish I could meet IRL.
This game isn't about being skillful as much as its about saying things in general chat that enrage people who then go to murder you but in their rage they make dumb mistakes which gets them killed.
