Jaguars in London: British Input Recommended!

What's your Opinions, or otherwise on this, specifically our British Friends?

Doing another against the Cowboys, and then 2 more after that. Several other games over there as well.

im sure people will go and the stadium will be full (but for those ticket prices your having a laugh) Personally i dislike american football as its just watching blokes standing around most of the time

Before opening I thought some zoo in London had problems with escaping jaguars. Or maybe there was a sudden boom in sales of XFR's

Came here expecting cars, got american football instead... cannot be more disappointed.

I expected the cars too, which are owned by China these days anyway I believe.

Don't take this the wrong way, but not a lot of British people really like American Football, the general view is that it is Rugby for pansies where you're just allowed to hit anyone you want.

However it would be interesting to see how much you kick our arses given that you have a half decent football team. We complain about each others games but at least you can give us a run for our money in ours, I doubt we'll do the same here.

I like American football but it's usually 3.5 to 4 hours of coverage for a 1 hour game clock.
So, I don't care if they are hosted in England, America etc etc. As long as they are on British TV. Then I can record them as skip the endless re-runs of every play and watch a game in about 1.5 hours.

So for me it makes no difference where they play.


(When I read the title I thought this thread was going to be about cars or animals , I set the game today to record but didn't even check who was playing)

problem with that tenne is its just two NFL teams playing each other in London. Its the same thing as say Liverpool vs West ham only playing in chicago :p

That's actually not true IMO, i quote a post (not mine) , personally i haven't played both rugby and American football like this guy i quoted, i've played only rugby.


"I've played football and rugby, and they are two completely different sports. American football is played at high speed intervals with the potential for far greater consistency and severity of hits. The style in which rugby is played just doesn't allow for the big, high speed, open field hits you see in football (at least not nearly as often). Plus, football is a "sprint" where rugby is more  an endurance sport.  The moral of the story: if you play American football without padding/helmets, some people would probably die.

They're both tough sports, just very different. You need to actually understand and play football to appreciate the need for the pads"

I add that in rugby tackling above the shoulder is illegal (for obvious reasons), i dunno if it's the same in American football.
I think i wouldn't enjoy playing American football, there are too many breaks( even in rugby there are many breaks Imo), and if i'm not wrong (i think ) the players roster completely changes, depending on whether the team is in a defensive or offensive phase.   

On the other hand  i enjoy  watching American football, Imo it's more tactical than rugby.

Sorry about the Cars/Animals things, but I made that at 12 before heading to bed.

Interesting opinions. The game sold out(only 5k Americans, give or take, the rest was EU or local) at about 70k people. Pretty neat.

But yea, I do miss the old football but like any sport, they gotta market, and unlike soccer, the marketing is done between plays since players don't sport endorsements. Still, it's only 3 ish hours, unless it becomes a overtime game.

Interesting opinions on Rugby/US Football. Though, I'd say US football requires far more skill in terms of ability, because it's hard, hard hits, where 80% of all other sports are non contact(Soccer, basketball, baseball, cricket...um any other big non contact sports?)
