Thracian Peltast Build

Hey guys i'm a old member of the community and usually played a dedicated peasant archer or a polearm glaivetroll, but now i got in the mood for a themed build and so i picked the peltast. Being a dedicated archer was fun (when archers were not completely useless) and as a glaivetroll i had much fun in team mellee but also use able to duel pretty well.
Now i want a full support character. One that can throw stuff at close to medium range, do some pierce dmg in close to medium mellee range and have a shield to defend his butt.

I am about 22 lvl now but this is my plan for lvl 30:

Code: (Thracian_Peltast) [Select]
Level:           30

Strength:        18
Agility:         18

Skill to attr:    2

Power Strike:     6
Shield:           6
Athletics:        5
Power Throw:      6
Weapon Master:    6

Polearm:        119
Throwing:       118
using cRPG NewGen calc

Also probably gonna use a fast spear like "spear" ^^ and a round shield. I also heard that shields over 7.5 weight cost 2 slots and i need verification.
I also gonna shieth shield for duels cause ppl just facehug me and kill me with just spamming, i thrust so slow when with shield and spear is a fast polearm  :?

So please advice me on how to adjust and modify this build, i will be eternally gratefull :)

:Edit:

So the new optimal build is this?:

Code: [Select]
Level:           30

Strength:        21
Agility:         15

Skill to attr:    2

Power Strike:     7
Shield:           5
Athletics:        5
Power Throw:      7
Weapon Master:    5

Polearm:        102
Throwing:       120
using cRPG NewGen calc
:Edit:

Also my equipment:
Main Weapon: Throwing Lance
Shield: Heavy Round Shield
3rd Slot: Throwing Spears
4rd Slot: Throwing Spears

Almost all shields above the Knightly Heater Shield need 2 slots. Going thrower might not be worth it if you are also going for a spear and a shield. This will leave you with only one slot for throwing weapons. You could use a steel buckler, though. It is 0 slots, but you will need some shield skill to protect you from ranged attacks. A 15/21 build should be good for it. Also always max out athletics. It is the most important skill together with power strike.

Another option would be 21/15 with a shield, 2 Stacks of Jarids/Throwing Speas and a Throwing Lance (which is a very good melee and hoplite weapon).

Seems legit, as a peltast my spear should also be throwable ;). Why didn't i thought of that.
Thank you my fellow crpgeans.

Also throwing spears and stuff use my polearm skill in secondary mode?

Ok thanks for your help so far.
So now i use:
Main Weapon: Throwing Lance
Shield: Heavy Round Shield

But what should i use for the 2 remaining slots? Jarids? Javellins?
I'm particurarly thinking of using throwing spears just because it gives me 4 of a kind.

What do you think :)?

if yes you should choose another one

it's 1 slot. Also 2 lances are little expensive and no use. What if i miss? I want to have as much throwing equipment as i can get, no?

HRS is 1 slot.

Remember that you can often pick your projectiles back up, it is a very useful skill for throwers. And so your missed projectiles can often be recollected.

I personally like the jarids, but spears are a good choice too. I would play around with both for a while and see which ones you prefer.

A stack of war darts is also pretty good if your aim is to mostly disrupt, as you get many more projectiles.

The more you have, the better, your effective wpf is affected by a few things.
You can find the full details in the game mechanic megathread (http://forum.melee.org/beginner's-help-and-guides/game-mechanic-megathread!/).
