Damn good thread, finally I´m through

Well, it started back in school in one of the first lessons in my latin course (which really sucked balls), where the teacher explained how the latin language developed and what meanings are in our names. When I asked if there is a latin version of "Niko" (RL name; at that time I was hooked on latin/greek names and mythology), she only answered with "Well, maybe Nike, but that´s the only name which could fit." I hated that, since a)Name of a Goddess b) Goddess of Victory. Come on, that´s lame
So I just took "Ikarus" (guy with wings who fell down n died lol) and changed it to "Nikarus". BUT: When I was playin cRPG for some months, I realized that, everytime when I was playing, from time to time some Russians tried to speak with me, because they thought that I was a girl called "Nika" from "RUSsia". Not joking here. Hideyoshi still laughts his ass off about this one.

So I got back to "Ikarus", but I was looking for a more unique name, so I just switched the "s" with a "z", very creative. Then some lousy rapper (and lateron other artists) came up with the same name "Ikaruz", pff. Tried to change my name again, but I was already known as "Ikarus" or "Ike" all around the interwebs and some old online friends, so I just finally switched to"Ikarooz" a year ago and that´s where I am now.
Hm, funny, actually never renamed myself in cRPG to the "rooz" version, but I guess people wouldn´t like it anyways.

Hmm, long ago I used to play Day of Defeat by the name "korpisoturi". It's a finnish word, meaning sort of a guerilla/ranger type of warrior from some backwoods (doesn't have a direct translation). But since some games required shorter nick, it became just korppis.

my nickname in Native was fall3n because in  single campaign my kingdom was in complete ass when I formed it(no one calls me sayAttack, everyone calls me "phalen", on russian style)
for obvious reasons, here I had to come up with a new nickname...there was ukrainian cs proplayer SAYHELLO or something - not pretty much "pro", but they said that he was playing with acceleration enabled^^

Initially my nick name was Alpine_winter, i used it since when Warband was in beta,  at that  time i wasn't really into videogames,  i bought Warband only in September 2010, even if the game was released  earlier, i think  i started playing crpg in October/November of the same year.

I guess that after some time i got bored of my nick "Alpine_winter" and i changed it to Lars, because i have some friends that call me Lars irl, and it's a shorter name than the one i used before.
I got the nick  Lars when i was in Finland with a friend, long story short: we knew a girl there , she found  my irl nick ridicolous (many friends call me "Lol"), so she called me Lars instead of "Lol", and also  my friend who was with me started to call me Lars too .   
In my mind Lars sounded like a pet name, ( i know a guy who had a dog named Lars lol),  but then i found out that it is a quite common name in Scandia.
