Calling Planetside an RPG is like calling a forum post a literary novel because it has words.

Please point out where I called it an MMORPG because I exclusively used the term MMO in my previous post

I know the terms so step off

"Tab-target" is a common term for games with such combat system (ala Everquest/World of Warcraft), where you lock on to your target (either with a click or tab) and then use hotkeyed abilities that automatically follow/hit the enemy, unable to miss due to player/aiming error, unlike FPS/shooter combat system. Most of MMOs use this system.
Maybe because it's easier to implement when you have lots and lots of clients. EVE can hide that kind of stuff better because it's spaceships. OR maybe I just bullshit!

Christo what you need is to start a cRPG role-play drama! With rules! Drama is your kind of thing right?

Obviously it's easier to implement tab-target for MMOs, but nowadays it's just an old excuse for devs to make WoW clones

Are there any MMORPG's out there that have actual aiming or non auto melee combat? Something like fallen earth or darkfall? But free (fallen earth is free but just looking for other things out there)

I haven't played mmos in a while but I tried out swtor and immediately couldn't get into it. I thought at the least there'd be aiming involved but nope.. Uninstalled the same day I installed it.

Elsword...
its like a 2d'ish action mmo brawler type game.
Think maplestory with less grind, faster paced, and more intricate (in the form of player made combos, some of which are really hard to time.)
One nice thing about it, is its very easy to automatch and jump into co-op "dungeons". Wait times are ussually only around a minute long.
One annoying thing about it is inventory management. They give you like 24 (i think?) slots for each inventory tab, and then you can unlock more with their ingame paid money currency. If you don't spend money to unlock more inventory slots, you'll constantly be unloading your inventory between dungeons and trying to figure out what you can get rid of that you won't need later.

I thought the game looked like junk, but then I played it about a month ago and was pleasantly surprised. It's refreshingly unique.
I've put about 100 hours into it, but it's charm is starting to wear off a bit. Still, for a free mmo, keeping me entertained for 100 hours+ is pretty good, imho.

The only true MMOFPSRPG was a game called Endless Ages that has already found its final death. It was a game before its time I'm afraid. The only game close to it now is Firefall, and honestly that one bored me to tears.

Please point out where I called it an MMORPG because I exclusively used the term MMO in my previous post

Read the title of your every post! It's like someone asking for a decent FPS and you saying "Well you might try Call of Duty, Battlefield, ARMA, and World of Warcraft"

One more for Leesin  Calling Planetside an MMORPGFPS is like calling Keanu Reeves a Shakespearean actor!  :P

There's always vindictus... but I'm not sure if it classifies as a MMO.

No, mentioning an MMOFPS in an MMORPG thread is not even remotely like the example you gave. Needless to say, you have leveling, character improving and customization and you can roleplay in Planetside 2 just fine as well so I don't see the problem mentioning it in an MMORPG thread. The only problem about it here is you nitpicking.

It doesn't really, since it's heavily instanced based.

I wouldn't classify Planetside as an MMORPG. The role play is too limited.

gender restricted classes are retarded, we are talking about a game that thousands may play.
