I always wonder, how do people manage to have such disregard for their own physical integrity.

I wish the game itself was such a funny experience as well. I played it back in the day and all I can say is that it is near impossible to score a smooth uninterrupted parkour run longer than 10 seconds or so. So much hope gone to waste. The clunkiness kills it all. I hope they come up with a proper sequel someday.

I can see that you are a glass half-empty kind of guy.

How about, how do people manage to have such regard for their physical ability. Some people have it and know it, others always doubt themselves and doubt kills.

Well, I have some self-confidence when it comes to other skills but come on, a single slip at the wrong time and you're dead, your physical aptitude doesn't really matter if you are unlucky.

I think some people forget the danger simply because they didn't have any accidents yet. That plus a bit of ignorance. Same with cars, people just don't think about the consequences

Personally I'd be kind of pissed off to see a guy running around on a building above me, with shit that could fly off like rocks or if he fell

People die every day doing stupid shit, just you aren't going to see that on youtube

Yeah, well, he didn't just decide "Oh let's run over some roofs" one day, then went out and did it. There are years of training behind that.

Well, I have some self-confidence when it comes to other skills but come on, a single slip at the wrong time and you're dead, your physical aptitude doesn't really matter if you are unlucky.

When it comes to the physical, you make your own luck. You work within tolerances. Step out of those tolerances, and you have created the potential for what someone would call an accident. There is no accident, simply someone operating outside of their boundaries. Some have fine-tuned their boundaries to the point that would appear to be insanity to those who have not.

I can very well understand that but it still doesn't protect you from events outside of your control. Like a loose tile on a roof.

I don't think a loose tile on a roof would be a serious problem for a trained parkour athlete.
