You should know that those who put up extremely unfair offers are the noobs of the marketplace.
In the end they make less profit than those putting up more fair trades.

They are just like trolls in a forum and you know not to take them seriously.

It is very rare for the silly offers to get hit.

Sometimes they are legit, since the price is absurd.
They are just showcasing the item ,not wishing to name a price. Awaiting offers.

The tax skews the market. But there are psychological factors at play here.
Humans tend to overvalue what they presently have and undervalue what they do no have.
Look up Kahneman Behavorial economics for more on this.

What about Strategus to cRPG trades? Lets say i want to purchase your fief and u ask me for a loomed item. I give u loomed item +3 for a stone or 1 gold coin. On the marked place it would look like "retarded" trade but its actually totally legit. What now?

What if i wanna give an item or gold or loom point to someone cus i just wanna do it?

About the marketplace... I had an idea about loompoint respec which could be like skill respec but with bigger cooldown (like 3 weeks), but it would have to be followed by marketplace removal & current_gold removal. Each char would be granted the amount of loompoints from his generations and would be given some amount of gold depending on generation or something. There could also be the place on the crpg website where you would be able to sell your loom for a set price. Devs could adjust the price to as much as they want. Armoury and transfering option between alts&main could stay like it's now.

pros:
+less raging people
+lack of barriers when you want to switch class (except for cooldown -> the only barrier)
+no scammers -> fair&square -> you've got what you worked for
+more variety
+more dev influence on amount of gold among players (by adjusting selling price etc.) -> inflation under control
+no fear of losing your items and getting worse or having to pay more to regain old ones
+Devs have bigger field of mistake/change so players like Bars aren't fucked (RIP Long Voulge, Heavy Lance) and all 4stratloomrs

cons:
-genius market whoresmerchants lose the results of their hard scamwork
-Can't go high amount of looms & low gen unless in the clan or have alts

I guess people who have way more looms than generations could be given a few bonus loompoints for their the amount of life they have spent trading. All in all some active dev (khy Paul (cuz u awsum Paul)) could at least try to think how to balance it all, then 1 of the cons would disappear. [Ex. (amout of lps over generations)/2or3 = bonus, but cap would be needed]

Imho if you satisfy the marketwhoresmerchants somehow, then by introducing this to crpg you would basically change the game to better one.

Dunno but maybe adding an option to buy a loompoint in that place on c-rpg website would be a good idea as well? It would remove the 2nd con.

I never forced myself to write it b4 because people never read tl;drs, also maybe somebody suggested it before, who knows.

Tell me what ya think (I just derailed topic lul)

I guess somebody should start new topic about it so we can discuss it.

The longer we have current marketplace the harder it is to balance everything properly because there will be victims of this change :-(  (if it ever happens)

(click to show/hide)

Devs thought they wouldn't have to give any loom respecs after stat-changes as they have given us the marketplace where we can exchange our items with other people.

This thread is pretty pointless, as someone said already, those who put ridiculous offers liek +3 armor for 1.5 mln gold probably don't want to sell it. So you're pointing finger at the wrong persons Panos. True "merchants" aka scamming whores like me make resonable offers. E.g. 2 loompoints and 50 k gold for destrier. Probably you would say its fair offer. The problem is you can easily sell it for 2 lp and 150 k. And you can not stop ppl from earning money in this way cause it's just way too easy to put a few offers and wait untli someone will accept them.

Take a look at booths, there are true "merchants". Obi Wan has 2 booths - 1 booth costs 200 k, maybe more - with 100 offers. And hes have them them for a year or even longer, just imagine how many looms he has to have

The goal of Strategus battles shouldnt be to deprive your enemies of players, but to have full roster both sides and have the gear/tactics/strategy win the day rather than lack of merc support.

It wouldn't look retarded  to anyone who isn't a noob because to anyone who has played C-RPG for a while knows people do the "for a stone trades" to give items and gold etc to someone else.
