3 riding 1 HA. I've respecced to horse thrower and it's amazing with just 6 PT 0 HA, I can only dream about how 11 PT 1 HA would feel.

Well with the recent patch, they removed HT from needing HA skill if I'm correct.

Urist: - added HA skill malus to xbow and removed it from throwing

So you might be fine with no HA and 4 riding?

but didn't ha already effect xbow accuracy while riding? which makes me think that the "malus" is really an extra penalty

Not sure. Maybe get in touch with someone? The malus for HA was a decrease in accuracy and decrease in damage. Which, HX may NOT have had it. (that was the .3.0.1, the hotfix, made the malus BIGGER, so I believe it can be changed?)

With 4 riding u can get steppe horse which is really good horsie :P so go for 4 riding :P

3 riding ...palfrey & 1ha = funny & not that bad as it sound's. speed with accuracy as ht'er = win.

or 4 riding ...steppe & 0ha = good for small, hilly , city maps. with much manouver & minor speed ..you don't need ha.

it's up to your playstyle.

4 riding is not worth it,you need at least 6 to be dicent enough. You don't need speed,you need maneuver,and with 3 or 4 riding you are gonna maneuver as you are driving a 200 meters long boat,not horse. It is going to be such a fail.
Get ps or get shield instead. :D

HA skill reduces Archery WPF even when dismounted, I assume the patchnotes means it does that for XBow WPF as well, and no longer Throwing

I'd got with 4 IF or 4 PS personally, most preferably the PS. You could definitely do some damage with that much!

If you wanna HT I seriously advice going 4 riding over 3 riding and 1 ha, a steppe horse is a million times better than a rouncey.
