I actually agree. It's no rule, but it would help the community if everyone would speak english. If you don't speak english, learn it. That's what I did when I was young and new to the internet :)

When you were young, internet was young as well. How much content in german language was available back in your days? When I came in contact with internet for the first time, it was "english or gtfo". And that was back in late 1997. Considering that you're born and raised in civilized Austria and a little bit older than me, I bet you had access to internet few years before me.

And still chadz is right. International community. What language? Right, it's English. It could have been chinese as well if we had a majority of chinese players. :D

Anyway, I did never mind people talking any other language. To be honest, the only thing I hate is when people start writing German on the servers... cause Im able to understand that.

I agree that is easier when people speak english. But I disagree with assumption that people are speaking their native language with intent to annoy others and that everyone understands english language good enough to be able to write it without help of google translator. They simply don't.

Take Ivani4 or Artem, for example. I bet they couldn't understand a single letter of alphabet when they started playing this mod. Now, you can see them writing sorry from time to time, using english alphabet. That just shows they aren't ignorant people, they took time to learn foreign language to be able to communicate better with other players in an online game. This is a game after all, no one should be forced to learn anything. It's about having fun, remember?

I don't think any smart person would ever say that people used their native language to annoy other people in an online game. That'd be quite a stupid idea.  :P

Leshma & Oberyn: How does it make you a douche if you prefer to understand what people write?

This has nothing to do with people who can't speak english.
It's about those who can speak english but decides not to.

I could speak Swedish all the time, but I don't.
Because it wouldn't be polite against all those who can't speak Swedish.

Go ahead brah. I personally couldn't give less of a shit if you decide to write swedish to some other swedish guy ingame. Because obviously it wouldn't be adressed to me, so I shouldn't fucking feel entitled to know what you're saying anyways. Unless I was some sort of paranoid cunt with a stick up my ass.
Funny how when it isn't anglo douchebags it's nordic/germanic assholes, who it just so happens have practically the same phonetic (and ugly) gutural pronounciation in their languages. Yeah, people there tend to have more facility with english, gee I fucking wonder why. It's obviously just because they are very polite and considerate.
And the majority of players in this game are native english speakers? Stats please?

You're telling me people have learned skills directly due to this mod simply to benefit others in this mod? That's blasphemy. We here in the c-rpg community do not support human compassion towards one another. Take it back.

8. If at any time you have the opportunity, kick your team mates! They will appreciate this and make you stand out as a hilariously witty and intelligent member of the cRPG community.

This is so true.

A nice little trick too is to throw some spikes on a bridge right behind the 3 or 4 guys in the lead.  Once they realize there is no retreat nor any reinforcements able to help them, they will fight all the harder.  Once they are dead due to being pathetically unable to block all four directions at once and having built a silly reliance on footwork, the spikes will slow down the enemy for about 2 seconds, giving the rest of the team time to realign their shakras or think about what they'll get their mothers next Mother's day.

Also stops those deadly cavalry charges lancers love to do into a packed mob of infantry and range clustered in tight, closed areas.

And as for typing English, I agree.  I need to know who the Quebecois think are my old friends.  Perhaps this needs its own thread.

I remember someone said any ingame message written in russian looks like raging because of that bold font.  :D So true.

PS: well it's mainly raging indeed.
