I'm considering the same, though I only started strategus today. I joined it weeks ago, just didn't bother - money's been gathering ever since. I don't yet know the value of money in strategus, in fact, hardly anything about it.
But I consider myself an able warband player with sword+shield, throwing axes and light armor. When and which server do you play at? I'd like to meet some of you in battle.

We mostly play on battle servers, as playing together there is easier.
Just get into #fenada on quakenet (IRC) or 212.187.246.208:9104 TS3. Right now we got a 6man squad on eu2

Something is fishy with my TS, I could barely hear you, even though I maxed out the volume. Any clever troubleshooting ideas? Also, you left EU2, and couldn't understand which server you were going to.

Nords are the best faction, hands down. Nothing like fighting in a shield wall to make your day complete.

I'm thinking of joining Strategus - looks like I'm missing out when I'm not involved. If I did, the Sea Raiders appeal to me most. Just curious, though; I've always worn Nord armor (Either studded leather over mail/cuir bouilli/nord helmet), but I am a straight polearm cav in cRPG. Does that pretty much make me ineligible?

Sadly, even we need cavalry in Strategus, so thats no problem. Just come to our irc-channel or ts, and play some rounds with us, and if you feel like it, you can always start a Huscarl-alt for some friendly SeaRaider squad action ;)

Being an "Infantry / Light Cavalry" Sea Raider myself, I have most of my WPF in 1h + shield, but I also have nice amount of it in polearms.
I found this being most usefull for Strategus: I can go on foot when cavalry is either not needed or just not avaible. And if needed I can ride a horse.
Personaly, I think full cavalry build is alright. I would only suggest investing some points in athletics so you could be usefull on foot as well.
