Don't mean to intrude on your main topic, I beg your pardon in advance for this upcoming rant... I'll keep it short... it just caught my eye and I felt compelled to comment.
Aren't Russians a Slavic tribe?
I don't know if you care but...
Technically speaking term Russian was coined around 18th century during formation of the Empire, it has not been found in any ancient texts in reference to people residing in territories of modern Russia. It is all inclusive term and quite ambiguous, therefore, it is truly a term for a late nation rather than an ancient tribe.
Yes,we have a lot in common (lot negative stuff like poor people, corrupted government,a lot of crazy people...),but we have different mentality.
Actually, the main thing that bonds Eastern and Southern Slavs together is common religion... I don't know what you mean by mentality, but our way of thinking is generally shaped by our environments and by our intelligence. People are not that much different from one another in general.
We here love Russians cuz of communist past and common enemies in history, but i believe they don't even know where are we on map and don't give a fuck.
Your reason for affection is very... odd... can't people like us for our contribution to literature, music, science, philosophy; our rich, beautiful and diverse culture; our enigmatic and intriguing history?
