basically nothing changed except you get to redistribute your heirlooms which mostly benefits the people who got their weapons nerfed after they were OP for half a year.

Meow you cant please everyone and in this case the majority needed to be sorted which is most of the people that have used OP weapons.

Well im sticking with the same weapon i always have and the same shield : )

agreed but i'd rather go with the solution that benefits the people that did not choose their gear by min/maxing then with one that only benefits the guys who used the weapons that got nerfed...

This wouldnt be a very successful mod if that was to happen to be honest.

Theres always going to be a weapon thats more powerful than the rest that the majority are going to use, nerfing it will create another one and nerfing that will create another one so its always going to happen.

You cant penalise people for wanting to use the best items, this way everyone gets a fresh start instead of please the minority and pissing off alot of people.

Like i said above im sticking with my signature weapon :D overpowered but underused!

Thanks for the great solution. I was like WTF!! when I joined the server and went from lvl 26 to 29 in 3 ticks. Most of my retirements were before January patch so I get to have more heirlooms then before eventhough I lost some gens.

This is indeed a smart and fair recalculation. Nice work!

basically nothing changed except you get to redistribute your heirlooms which mostly benefits the people who got their weapons nerfed after they were OP for half a year.
I'm sorry, it doesn't benefit mostly people who abused weapons being OP, it does benefit a few of them though.
It benefits more people who want a slight change in playstyle, and it benefits even MORE people who can't use weapons together/on their builds anymore due to requirements.
That line of logic is "To prevent a small minority of people who used an OP weapon, we must screw over the majority of people".
I'm getting really pissed off at this line of logic. I can't stand someone with a developer tag saying it repeatedly in this thread.

With that being said now, I am SO glad that this heirloom recalculation is being done. It is good to see that you do care about the majority of the player base.
I just hoped it would accompany a stat recalculation, because players over level 31 who can't use their items due to requirement changes got shafted as well. "Oh yeah, you can retire but you lose tons of EXP just so you can grind all the way back up to level to use your gear again."
Also, I have declared myself #1 NA hybrid thrower
Formerly known as Marathon.
As an NA admin, I am the most laid back and concerned with the ~fun of the game~ above all other factors. I've also been super inactive since Summer 2012. University takes most of my time, but I still find some time to play when i can.

If you can't do it without the requirement try waiting to assign heirloom points until you do your shielder build?

I would, but I don't know how long I'll have to assign them. If it's infinite, it's not a problem. If it isn't, I'm in trouble :P

The problem is even if you are number 1 in NA you are still only number 467 in EU or the worst in AUS(number 17)

That line of logic is "To prevent a small minority of people who used an OP weapon, we must screw over the majority of people".

please tell me where i said that.

i would have been all for a reset of specific weapons that got nerfed.
i am not for resetting looms on 2h swords, barmaces and hafted blades.
it's not like i was like "don't ever allow heirloom respecing" so please make sure you understand what i am saying before you start talking stuff like that...

I guess there's been no clarification on how this will work? Like if I have 8 heirloom modifications spread throught 5 items, would I get a flat 8 "points" to redistribute among my items?

Go to your character screen and see what your Generation which say if it is 10 you will have 9 heirlooms to spend.
