This game is great! But the backing up stabbing and being cut up by peoples elbows is getting tiresome. Just wondering why some mechanics are absurd and others not

From what little I know, the m&b engine doesn't support that degree of precision.   Which given the game age makes sense, I think.

Like butan said, we've got more than a physics update to look forward to ;)

Lol, you don't simply change the physics of a game in a mod...

It's nearly impossible to change any aspect of core Warband melee mechanics without completely throwing balance out of the window. The game is full of idiosyncrasies, but changing any one of them without completely overhauling everything (and potentially ending up with a worse game) will almost certainly break more than it fixes.

You know I don't have hair you bastard!  And I don't buy this nonsense about breaking it. They did a turn nerf and got rid of polestun. yet they can't fix backing up stabs doing full damage. Stop the madness

Backing up while stabbing doesn't do full damage. It deals significantly reduced damage due to a negative speed bonus, unless the opponent runs into the stab faster than the stabber is backing up (in which case the damage is increased - like it should be).

Polestun wasn't a core melee mechanic. On the other hand, the turnspeed nerf definitely did more damage than good.

For anyone of the younger generations in today's modern world, not understand the basics of programming (and associated limitations) can be a bit jarring to others as it is something that everyone relies on every day, and is something that is commonly taught (Along with basics of biology, electricity, kinetics, politics etc) in a lot of schools.

For others, there is an "elitist" mentality that they expect everyone to be an expert at computer gaming and all things related to be  a"true gamer."

*shrugs*

For me, it is the former, though I dare say it is not "appalling" so much as mildly disappointing.

Think of games as cars/vehicles, if that is more familiar to you. You can modify a car to a certain extent, but ultimately you have to work with what you have as a chassis, not all vehicles even have room for the "souped up" engines, and you can't really modify a van into a flatbed-towtruck and then into a formula 1 racecar.

I'm not normal and I don't pretend so, my approach is pretty much a bomb crescendo.
Death is a fun way to pass the time though, several little bullets moving in staccato.
The terror of my reign will live on in infamy, singing when they die like a dead man's symphony.
