Now I did not get the game yet, but isn't the point of playing GTA online dicking around in a violent sandbox with friends? I played GTA IV Free Roam for dozens of hours and had a blast, even though it didn't have a quarter of the opportunities that GTA V seems to have for having fun.

Sounds like you need to find some fun friends.

&@Shema

nah GTA Online is fun and yeah its purpose is dicking around with friends in a sandbox world, we're just talking that there's a lot of potential for some more "serious" stuff to be implemented

It takes 1 hit with Homing Launcher so its easily destroyable (Kuruma)

Also its good destroying peoples cars cuz then u get bad sport eventually and get the dunce hat a.ka u can make ur KKK outfit.
How is that "easily destroyable"? The homing launcher needs to lock onto target, and it also locks onto other cars so the Kuruma must be at the front. Yes, "easy" if the Kuruma is staying still in an empty spot, but otherwise no, you're at a severe disadvantage because you can be driven over and 1-hit killed by automatic fire from the Kuruma.

Sounds like you need to find some fun friends.
Nobody's complaining about GTA Online, we're talking about free roam of GTA Online. There is nothing to really do in the free roam, even with friends. The missions (=jobs) are good.

Definitely room for improvement, after all it's a sandbox atm without any goal so if there could be a goal implemented or even basic stuff that APB has would improve it
You should be punished for having a shitty attitude.

If it's still and aiming straight at it you dont need to wait and lock on. And you can easily jump to the sides when it approaches you. Pretty easy to take down imo and when i've had a launcher i've 9/10 times raped it. Plus you can shoot the driver with regular guns too but a bit harder. Then theres explosive charges, tripmines, grenades and RPGs as well to easily rape it.

Yes, if the player is AFK you can easily destroy it (and get to pay insurance). That's not the point. And "jumping to the sides" only works if the driver is bad. What's your KDR? Mine is between 7-8. The armored Kuruma is 100% surely overpowered for both free roam and missions. You're falling prey to the same fallacies that people always do when talking about things like this, you're only considering things from your own perspective in an ideal fantasy world. Unfortunately, the driver of the Kuruma (if we're assuming a half-way decent player) isn't going to oblige you by staying still and letting you hammer his car with hundreds of regular bullets and grenades and explosive charges. The driver is just as capable of doing damage, the only difference being that you're not protected and you can be driven over - and if you're bumped at all by the car you're dead, because of the slow falling and standing up animations.

Explosives only work against horrible Kuruma drivers or if you have the drop on them. This is common sense. There is a delay when using explosives and they are all way harder to aim than an AP pistol.

Hardly. Sticky Charges almost always work when facing a kuruma driver. It's about being creative. Putting them on the ground and preparing to ambush them at a road. Putting them on empty cars and setting up ''roadblocks'' Or chasing them down which is a bit more risky but works for me 90% of the time. I can't count how many Kurumas i've destroyed whilst being on my Hakuchou and just quickly drove near em and threw a charge. They wont have laser beam accuracy and shoot you dead within seconds. And all it takes is one charge.

I'd like more smaller things like the grocery robbing but nothing serious like missions in free roam tbh. Maybe bank robbery you need 3 people for. Taking out armoured transports with police escort as 4 player free roam objectives...

Serious "jobs"... it would take away from the silly fucking around that is so light-hearted atm.
With stuff like occupations, you get a whole new level of tryhards into the game that would destroy the light-heartedness it has atm.

A different story would be things like Crew-oriented stuff with dedicated sessions for it. Things like team-deathmatch over the whole map, 15vs15 crew war.
When west germany annexed east germany, nobody moved a finger too.

They should implement a Protect the President type of mode like SA:MP had. One team trying to defend one guy, one team trying to kill him. 20 player limousine convoy getting raided by motorcycle mounted terrorists, that shit was epic.

i agree with the crew wars , could be funny to get a proper war between factions in a server.
about "jobs" , you still can dicking around with your friends while a more rp oriented guy is cleaning the streets trying to earn the living :D or a fat nerd with weird sexual orientation is doing BJs on the highway to earn much money to buy collants.
If the whole server is going to change in an rp server ok , that's a different story where you should interact with a player before cut his nuts with a broken bottle and could be boring :D

Like I said, fantasy scenarios. Yes, no shit sticky charges work if the kuruma driver says "ok i'm coming 4 u in 5 minutes pls dont prepare ambush xD." Now, in reality, you don't know if someone drives an armored Kuruma or not before you see them and they come around the corner while you're on foot or in your vehicle. Sticky charges take time to explode, they have limited range and need to be thrown in an arc and don't move all that fast. Meanwhile the Kuruma driver needs to hit your head once with his uzi. I'm sure it might work on consoles, but on a PC where people have a mouse it's really easy to aim for someone's head and hold down M1.

I played a PvP mission like that, NPC was being escorted while 1 team defended, 1 team was the attacker. Not sure if you can make a mission like that in the Creator though, would be great.

I played one like that too, but it seems really hard to find any kind of PvP missions, apart from Cypress hill LTS with clueless rank 3s.

Interestingly enough, as someone who likes PvP, I played probably 3-5 PvP missions overall. I guess survivals and heists are just more attractive? I might devote some time to make a nice PvP mission, it's all about picking a cool location.

I personally don't like the PvP part of GTA at all but I can understand why you like it, I'm probably a bit more like Molly and want to have fun with my friends rather than against them :>
