I made the mistake to actually care about that VRAM thing, so no, I "only" used high textures.
Gonna try now if it makes a difference or not :o

I switch to very high texture quality and the game runs as smooth as before, or even more, it looks better, and no more freezes.  :|

They double everything if you have SLI or Xfire.
No idea why.

Additionally, I got the shadow things enabled from the "advanced graphics" tab.

Do you monitor your FPS?

Nope. FPS is very important to me in multiplayer games though, and I use those settings in PvP etc. FPS hasn't been a problem so far.

In SP it runs completely smooth 99% of the time. Sometimes, very rarely, it stutters briefly. Doesn't seem to be any particular rhyme or reason to when it does that, sometimes it happens when just entering the desert area, but not always? Either way, for every 2 hours of no lag at all there's 5 seconds of micro-freezes (that don't even make it hard to control a vehicle), so that's fine with me.

Online is seriously bugged for me. Missing chat, not responding to any controls, randomly being unable to attack, etc...

That does seem to work decently actually. Sometimes I get small stuttering but I think that's alright for sexy graphics.

Yeah, I don't care about some small stutters now and then in a game like GTA. I use Depth of Field too in SP, but it's fucked up in MP because it wants to blur everything when you're in cover.
