You want casual arcade driving for kids, we get that already. Don't try to make it part of GTA's identity because it isn't.

GTA IV was a crappy lifeless game. Others weren't.  And GTA IV was just 1

Troll cuz i dont like the ''masterwork'' known as GTA IV with its crappy driving mechanics,  claustrophobic small, dead and lifeless city with a lame protagonist and prefer the earlier GTA games and GTA V  that were full of life amd characters with personality over IV.

By your logic if you hate on V and i called you a troll it would be justified.  But alas hypocrisy is running rampant here.

I liked the driving in GTA 4 tbh, but I have to agree that GTA4 as a Singleplayer game didn't have shit on San Andreas or Vice City. Sure, I had my fun, but I found the story line dull, the main character duller, the location bland and I couldn't even force myself to get anywhere near completing it. Don't get me started on the annoying needy friends calling you all of the time either. Multiplayer on the other hand was obviously good fun.

As someone who has had a blast playing GTA IV online for a few dozen hours exclusively in freeroam mode I find the crappy execution of objectives or player interaction in GTA Online a moot point. For me playing GTA multiplayer is about playing with friends on Teamspeak and dropping cooked grenades from helicopters, trying to hit eachother mid-air by jumping of ramps with motorcycles, playing King of the Clucking Bell or whatever dumb shit you can come up with. From what I have seen GTA Online has about three times as much interesting locations, equipment and vehicles so should be a blast without ever touching a mission or something.

Sadly GTA Online also has zero skill driving with insta-stopping, insta-turning and insta-accelerating so car chases are going to be dull as fuck. No more slightly nudging the back end of someone and watch him spin out of control and crash horribly. No more completely losing someone by doing a sweet handbrake drift through a sharp turn. Nope, all that has been hurrdurred to the level of morons.

Yeah.. I had a lot of fun online with GTA 4's driving mechanics.

My favourite maneuver when I was being chased was get to high speed, do a handbrake 180, but make sure to hit reverse as soon as the back of the car is pointing in the direction I was originally going, as it will keep quite a lot of speed. At the point where I do the 180, a whole lot of players thought I was doing a 180 to try and double back on myself, i.e go the opposite direction to what we was already traveling, so they in turn do a handbrake 180, but because they didn't expect me to reverse and carry on going in the original direction, they lose a lot of speed and/or fuck up with a slow turn to resume chasing me. At this point I again do another 180 as I'm reversing so my car is once again facing the direction I was originally traveling, then pedal to the metal and lose the fuckers.

This maneuver seemed to work 10 times out of 10 on anyone I hadn't already done it on and even if I had already done it to someone multiple times and they now expect it, instead of reversing when I do the 180, I actually do just do a 180 and start driving in the opposite direction, many of them would drive straight past me because they then expected me to reverse lol.

I hope they'll make driving part more like BeamNG and new Flatout, with solid driving model and realistic destruction.

It's a moot point as long as you don't care about it. But the fact that a game is fun with friends is a moot point as well. Watching Derrick is more fun with friends too. GTA:O had the potential to be standing on its own, unlike GTA4's multiplayer modes which would inevitably become boring after a while, with the notable exception of Cops & Crooks which was the best GTA gamemode ever and trumps everything they came up with in GTA:O. They critically missed the opportunity to make public freeroam fun. Moreoever, GTA 5 has only marginally more interesting places to be. Most areas are quite generic and there are actually fewer interiors than in GTA 4. Of course I'm still predicting playing it with friends on PC will be awesome.

Sadly GTA Online also has zero skill driving with insta-stopping, insta-turning and insta-accelerating so car chases are going to be dull as fuck. I confirm this 100%.

I loved doing that. With the Huntley Sport in particular.

I hope they'll make driving part more like BeamNG and new Flatout, with solid driving model and realistic destruction.

Let's be realistic, Rockstar won't change anything about the driving in GTA5. Modders will surely do or at least try to, but it probably won't be possible to have proper driving online.

There are no words to express how much I love GTA IV driving system. That feeling of losing control of the vehicle is superb, you know when you're fucked and you'll crash and completely destroy your vehicle while looking marvelous. Heck you might even fly through the front window and smash your face on the street light pole.

GTA V = oh look 100% grip on the road and even if I crash it's gonna bump me back to the road... I'm surprised they didn't install a fucking autopilot to the (bumper) cars

So I played GTA V like halfway through and in the whole time playing I was never able to delve into it. For me GTA is about shooting and driving, two things GTA V isn't really good at imo. And sadly that ruins it for me.

Then there are thousand things you can do but do they really had to put all these things in the game? Does anyone seriously hunt stupid animals in this game?
Or all the jetski racing, tennis playing and other bullshit... sorry I'm not interested in this crap. I know a lot of player like to have all these possibilities, but personally I like the no-nonsense, story based, shooting and driving-gameplay of GTA IV much more...

People (except kids, bads and trolls) say GTA5 driving is not good because it is not as good as GTA4 driving, that's all.
