People blinded by nostalgia.... Aye ladders were fun, except when archers camped roofs and destroyed them delaying the round for 2-3 minutes.
Jumping archers were a pain, made kiting even more effective :(
1-2d weapons are overnerfed yes.
IMO polearms and 2h are balanced, 1h on the other hand feels underpowered.
Lances oneshotting everything sucked ass, its so fucking boring to play battle and when you stop doing 360's for 5 seconds you get backstabbed and instakilled.
Turnspeed never needed fixing IMO, i never had any problems with it.

I remember when this game was played, instead of being whined about in forum.

When exactly was this?

Anybody else remember the days when...

What I mostly remember from those old days is one giant ranged spam by archers with native fire rate using warbows with closed crosshairs and killing people in two arrows from across the map. Oh, by the way those archers also were fully capable in melee and were wearing good armor. Apart from certain 'fixes' that fuck up melee combat (like weapons getting stuck on everything) and the lack of feeling of progress (you can easily go from peasant to armored knight over one night) current cRPG is much better.

Each time I read this kind of 'nostalgia' threads I cringe a bit inside, because you newmy old friends who post those apparently either haven't really played cRPG back then or you remember only the good things.
Mods compatible with cRPG. New crosshairs, textures, sounds, yay.

Ladderpulting was positively hilarous, but roofcamping was (and still is on some broken maps) the worst thing ever.

I remember when head shots meant something, I remember when everyone and their mom wasn't a 2-hander, I remember what it was like to have fun and be viable as an archer. Oh well....

And the game is currently one giant 2h spam fest, much better right? At least other classes were appealing back then. Now archers need 5-12 hits to kill the average player while 2h clowns can 2-3 shot nearly anybody. It sure doesn't help that ranged classes can't jump while shooting, doesn't help that arrows weigh so much. The tears of europeans have sucked all of the fun out of ranged classes and have made the role of archer nearly unplayable. Every nerf to anything but 2h is an indirect buff to 2h. Tell me, when was the last time you saw 2h take a nerf?

This isn't really supposed to be a nostalgia thread, it is supposed to be a reminder of great mechanics that were destroyed by the whining of europeans and the shitty new mechanics that were implimented because these same whining europeans demand stale combat.

I can't remember the last time I was still running around with 3 arrows. Usually die in 2-4 and I always use loomed armor, average strength (18-24) and a couple of IF :D
I voted Gurnisson cause of his fucking bendy pike, I swear noone can roflcopter stab like he can.
