Your reason for playing a certain class

Share how and why u pick your class.

I am really interested in trends in general so i am interested in cRPG tredns aswell, the last topic on this subject i made was about the gear and how you pick your gear. Most of the people that replied said they value roleplay or stlye over stats but the marketplace and the battlefield situation tells a different story. maybe the people that use the latest "in" weapons didnt reply or you werent all sincere ( bastards!1 ).

So the question oif the day is how about the classes u play. how and why u pick them. trends, clan rolepay, fun, boredom?

Discuss... (/ ^__^ )/

And now he can't play because of "common sense" and he doesn't understand how this common sense works

I was pole cav and then 1h cav. Once I decided to give up cav, I wanted to go for something else entirely. Ranged other than throwing isn't very exciting and throwing is pretty much a non-issue in Strat, so 2h.

Shielder, with hybrid archery and/or riding at times.

Why? A few reasons: I do not like manual blocking (it requires time to do and get used to it, and there are extended periods of time when I cannot play and forget most of it), and it allows me to push, hold positions and pull back, fight against a few opponents and come out alive, get off ranged reticules, etc. I have never wanted to be the star in the show, I would be happier being the man behind the curtains that gets everything going while not being appreciated.

Then, when I feel like my chopper is not enough, I decide to get a nerf gun by hybridising into archery. Totally not worth it (low damage, I cannot aim for shit), except for the look on someones face when I drop my bow, and defeat them with my tiny 1her and shield.

And sometimes, I feel like I really should give myself a disadvantage, I add riding and horse archery on top of that. Awful UP build, but fun one.

I am playing hoplite because of two reasons. First of all, the class doesn't have to take shit from both cav and ranged. Especially ranged tends to frustrate me, so having a shield is good for my enjoyment of the game. Secondly and most importantly, there is no class which allows me to influence my team's chances of victory like hoplite does. You can suppress a dozen people single handedly in melee, giving your team an edge. You are extremely good at ending fights, by forcing people to block two directions, allowing your teammates to quickly move on and fight elsewhere. Your mere presence as a hoplite makes it harder for enemies to attack, because they have to continously keep an eye on you. Winning dem rounds is what it is all about for me.

This is why I used to play longspear before, but with longspear losing turning rate and ashwood pike gaining, the balance between these class has definitely fallen in favour of hoplite. The lower turnrate of the longspear makes it harder to suppress a wide area and surprise people. So when I reached level 34 I got myself 3 shield skill and switched.

My main has always been a longspear user, since i love the look and also enjoy teamwork much more than any solo heroics.

However, being clanless and generally playing on EU2, i mostly play on my 2h alt these days, because it takes 0 effort and i'm lazy. Also, siege players can't teamwork for shit, ever, they often even work against their teammates, rather than with them

Shielder - because it's universal and can fight with any other class effectively.

Ninja - because surprising your opponents with sudden ambushes and attacks is much more fun. Also running fast.

Playing this... like 2 years now? Still haven't made up my mind about anything. Besides that I suck at pretty much everything except throwing :3

This all leads to mid-gen respec-rage which isn't really helping, I guess.
Shielder is fun tho and maximizes my survival significantly.
When west germany annexed east germany, nobody moved a finger too.

Playing 1h/2h/polearm/thrower/horseman/shielder hybrid because i get bored fast of playing one class and im to lazy to lvl up alts, retire or respec my main.
But to the contrary of what people think and say, its damn effective! =D

cav. high mobility lets me help outnumbered or retreating teammates,  giving them a chance to regroup or turn the fight around.
it helps pinpoint weaknesses across the field and exploit them quickly.  other then that a few things teeth said.

also donkeys are mejestic:

Flame I am - that much I know!

Poleamer, when I used to play more Eu 2, I was being pretty good at awlpiking and reach-arounds my teammates to kill enemy with my GLB when they weren't even expecting me to hit them. Now I'm more of a PvE player, so only range matters to me, I teamhit too much :(

I also play on my 2h alt for the lols sometimes, its just so fucking easy with Sword of War

I first chose to play cavalry because I found walking for 10-30 seconds at the beginning of every round to get to the enemy team to be boring. Now I continue to play cavalry for a few reasons, my favorite two probably being the following:

1. I can be infantry or a horseman just as easily. When my horse goes down I am still very capable of helping my team.
2. I am a fine asset in field battles and have opportunities no other class has. More than once I have been part of a small group of people that have capped flags on enemy armies and made them lose hundreds of troops. Having that kind of mobility is awesome.

It's also the only thing I'm any good at, and I hate trying to learn new skills. Change is bad.
