It will be the most common thing in the game (besides 2h spammers) if this is implemented, I assure you.

True, people might be too lazy to forgive.

i top the scoreboards fairly regularly and i'm very very very careful not to team hit ... perhaps other people should be equally as careful ?

and if they're not, then damn right they should be punished. They're the ones doing something wrong by team hitting me, i'm not doing anything wrong by reporting them. I just wish they'd get kicked more often for team hitting.

If you think that people should be booted from the servers for not being good players you might as well tell them that they should get good before they start playing. Hell, if we're going that far we may as well ban them from all servers until they get good enough to not teamhit you, right? That'll definitely fix the problem.

This is a perfect suggestion..... for people who insta M.

9 out of 10 teamhits are normal and for me not considered to be reported, so why should I press M so many times? That would just disturb my gameplay which means I just won't do that and innocent people will be punished.

This suggestion is like removing all M stuff and making it automatic.

I never press M, unless someone is spawn killing or other blatant intentional TW (since it says "intentional", not "careless"). However, I propose we do away with the M system, and replace it with the following:

-Eliminate the boring multiplier system
-Replace it with a more complex/varied reward system (objective-based and difficulty-based)
-Punish TWs heavily in this new reward system (XP/gold penalty)

We kind of have that right now, but good players will still get valour even if they TW like crazy, and bad players will never touch valour even if they never TW, so they don't care.

what about reflecting teamhit-damage? There is also the option of 50% reflect.

This means the Attacker got the damage, not the victim.

Just an idea

This would cause too much distraction for players. I'd WANT to forgive players who teamhit me on accident, but if I'm too busy fighting it would just annoy me a lot. Like getting hit and stunned by a teammate wasn't enough, I'd have to lose my concentration to press M aswell.
Not to mention that my M key on the keyboard is broken and sometimes when I press it really quick it just flips to the air when the button bounces back up

No, then you'll have rambo strength plate-wearers with a steel shield that just jump into a crowd and watch everyone kill themselves with reflected TW dmg.

Improve the reward system, then have TWs penalize the rewards heavily. Simple, elegant, removes burden from the players having to watch chat.

I think this would be a bit like QML'ing during the fight. Forcing me to press extra buttons in the middle of the fight.

"Yeah? Well fuck you for team hitting me in the first place, if you don't want to get reported, then watch your fucking swings jackass"

It's war, shit happens.  I pretty much never M unless someone is being very careless.  Even when people are being careful sometimes you get hit or hit someone.  How about you stick to rage M'ing, and us normal tempered people will keep our own methods?   It's a deal.

Also the reflected team damage sucks in every game I've ever played (including Warband).  It stuns both of you then, instead of just the guy that was teamwounded...making you both vulnerable to the enemy.

Teamhits are a way way smaller problem than teammates who crowd you.

I die all the time because some fucko teammate thought it neat to suddenly from nowhere rush straight in between me and the enemy im currently fighting and block my swing with his back/head/ass.

And then he reports me, even though i had no chance of reacting. Maybe i should grow eyes in the back of my head......

I prefered the system where we DID NOT have reports, people stayed the fuck out of each others way back then. If you didnt you got schooled.

Usually, teammates "appear" from the wrong angle into your fights because you are yourself doing everything to prevent being helped (hiltslashing being a favorite). Not that I don't do some squaredancing with the enemy myself from time to time. I don't know about you, but some people really play like they want to be killed when someone comes to help.

Who would you rather have alive?  You, or the teammate behind you that could care less if you were in his way or not and just kills you to get to the enemy?  (ROHYPNOL with a Great Maul is a good example)  I like damage reflect.

As it stands now, Armor is to protect you from teammates.

EDIT: Probably the best solution would be to get rid of M, and have it automatic.  Instead of kicking the person when getting 5/5, they lose a multiplier(Example: x4-x3).

Maybe get rid of the report message? I'm sure people would try not to teamhit even more if they didn't know if people forgave them or not.
This.

As far as I remember, we never had much problems with griefers in the past, and this feature is commonly lost with what has been already said in this thread. We still have polls.

You know, that wouldn't be terrible. It would be like the old system pre ticks/multi system.
