To the first part, I didn't bother responding, because as I've already stated, insects (are still animals, and they) aren't the only animals secluded from the whole rights thingy, are you gonna claim fish don't feel pain either?

I never made any actual statement about animal rights. You're the one who suggested that hurting insects and lobsters is the same as hurting a mammal. I just corrected you by pointing out that no, it's not the same, since they don't feel pain (or at the very least don't perceive pain in the same ways that mammals do), because of the whole "not having a central nervous system" thing.

And I never said: "serial killers often enjoy torturing animals so all animal torturers are gonna become serial killers". I simply stated that there is "a long history of serial killers who murdered little animals while they were young, before they moved up to bigger game." And I'm 100% correct in that. Dogs seem pretty smart.  Look at those fuckers when they chase down a bird or rabbit or something similar though.  They hunt it and kill it all while being playful as hell and not taking it serious.  Cuz of instinct and breeding and training and just a general sense of "who gives a fuck lol fuck rabbits."

Some people work the same way I'm sure.  Don't ascribe your world view to everyone as the only correct one, especially if your argument is that humans are animals so we are no better then other animals thus its wrong to do harm to them.  Since animals do nothing but fuck each other over all the time as it is.  Even or especially the intelligent ones.

Yes animals kill one another for food, there is nothing wrong with that, obviously. Ive been reffering to a comment made about how it was stupid that some polish guys where sent to jail for toruting and killing a dog. Killing for food or self defense is fine if need be, killing for no real reason is not.

There is an undeniable enormous gap between humans and other animals, which is large enough for me to have different standards for humans and any animal, devoid of any religious arguments. Humans > animals, you don't have to be a religious for that at all.

Meh, lions dont have to be superior to antelope to kill and eat them, the same with humans. There is no need to come with this "Humans > animals" shit to justify killing other animals. We're carnivores, simple as that. But as we are also so civilized, have ethical systems and so on we should restrain from unnecessary hurting other animals. Many animals simply don't have much reverence for life.  Even their own children.  Let alone an animal so inferior to them in social or mental development.  Much like how a human would see a rodent.  You have to imply that humans ARE better then animals to say that humans need a higher standard compared to lets say, a house cat torturing the fuck out of a mouse it captures before finally chewing its head off.

As i have said numerous times, intelligence or any other attribute is not a marker for determining the respect an organism should be shown. Are we more intelligent than other animals, as i have said yes, that being the case there is no reason to think we could not have a "higher standard", it doesnt make us better than them or more deserving of respect. In fact it would be expected in most cases, you would expect an educated person to be less violent and more respectful than a poor uneducated person, you expect this but it does not make the more educated person more desrving of respect. Yes one animal killing another can be a violent thing, and im really not sure where all this cat tortue stuff is coming from, an animal killing one other animal is violent yes, but its for a reason still.

And as ive said killing or harm is fine in needed circumstances, you have simply listed more of them like terrority for example which is important. Its easy to think animals dont have much reverence for life given the amount of violence in nature, its all for a reason. And if you percieve a cat killing a mouse as tortuing it or playing with it, does that mean its ok for us to do the same? No it doesnt, jsut like someone who grew up in a bad enviornment and is therefore prone to violence, doesnt mean its ok for you to do it.

To be fair, lots of aboriginal groups found much more harmony with nature.  Especially hunter/gatherer tribes with mild/non-existent agriculture and more nomadic lifestyles.  See the patchwork governments that covered the American continent (Native Americans) before Europeans showed up.  Relatively serene with nature, no industry or overpopulation.  Lots of brutal wars though against each other.  Vicious, ritualistic infighting over random bullshit like grazing grounds that turned into chopping off people's dicks and shoving them in their mouths.  Stuff Japanese seemed to enjoy quite a bit too.

So basically, white people are the worst as far as exploiting nature, animals, and resources are concerned.  Asians, africans, and other aboriginal groups are the worst as far as mutilating peoples genitals and acting like actual animals.

And pigs are all intelligent, playful animals who love having fun like dogs.  And they are basically tortured and slaughtered en masse by the factory full every day to make people's bacon.  If you don't have a problem with that, how can you have a problem with a dude frying up a hamster?
