Killing a musquito must be an enormous mental struggle for you. There is an undeniable enormous gap between humans and other animals, which is large enough for me to have different standards for humans and any animal, devoid of any religious arguments. Humans > animals, you don't have to be a religious for that at all.
I was not referring to mosquitos or insects, i was referring to more complex animals, mammals more specifically. At any rate what is your rational for this belief of there being an "enormous gap between humans and other animals". Do you have one, do you even know why you believe this? And my point to an extent was yest you may not be religous, but many of your ethical beliefs, apparently this one included, directly come from the religions that helped to shape your societies moral beliefs, Judaism and Christianity as i have mentioned. So it does not matter if you are a christian, you as well as many others still hold their beliefs anyways. Looking at a human, are we more intelligent than most other species, yes we are, btu we are physically weaker than most, and we might not be the most intelligent scientists are not in agreement if we are more intelligent than dolphins or not, their brains are certainly larger and more complex though, not that attributes are any marker for what makes an organism deserving of respect. And my whole point with this is not that killing animals itself is wrong, if you absolutely
have to for food or another reason ok, but to think that they are such trash that you can torture them or kill them for your own personal amusement is completely wrong. So ya what actual reason do you have for your beliefs? And if it is attribute based does that mean you belief you are better than other people who you surpass in regard to this attribute?
finally, comparing "animal cruelty" to slavery is beyond idiotic.
Same question to you Zilsch, explain your beliefs here. I would think the torture and killing of somethign would be worse than enslaving it, so how is the comparison idioitc? Again you could only think this if you believed humans where somehow special, so why do you believe that? Its always good to explain your rationale when making na argument, and believing something and not knowing why certanly isnt good.
