It should have the same effect as getting hit by a horse, minus the damage. The more PS you have, and speed factors like normal, the more likely it is to make him drop down. Else it will just stumble him/stun him. Honestly, it would be a much needed buff to 1h+shield. I mean, the generally accepted strategy nowadays is to sheathe your shield in 1v1's because shield in non-group scenarios is actually a burden (slows you down too much). This is ahistorical, if anything.
