So shield bash on dtv is a great defensive mechanic...







But what if you used it offensively?

They should allow it in standards gamemodes... Hoplites and 1 handers will love it ... but it should be a bit nerfed before  :mrgreen:

Yep.

It should have the same effect as getting hit by a horse, minus the damage. The more PS you have, and speed factors like normal, the more likely it is to make him drop down. Else it will just stumble him/stun him. Honestly, it would be a much needed buff to 1h+shield. I mean, the generally accepted strategy nowadays is to sheathe your shield in 1v1's because shield in non-group scenarios is actually a burden (slows you down too much). This is ahistorical, if anything.

I agree, 1v1 against a good player its actually better to put the shield away ( unless you are sporting high athletics) fighting with a shield makes you too easy to read,  totally reverse of history.

Dude, what kind of weird stalker stays active on a games forum that he's been banned on for like ages.
1H stab is the fastest, strongest and longest 1H animation. There's no reason NOT to use it in all instances. I don't know if it's OP, but it's boring. 1H used to be fun because you had a fast (left), long (right) and the most devastating attack (stab) and had to choose the best attack for each occasion.

I would say Warband has the most important feature: it's actually a good game. Neither Chivalry nor WoTR currently have the steep learning curve that Warband does. As a result, the depth of both 1v1 and group combat in Warband is quite a lot higher than in both of those games.

I wouldn't actually call 1v1 Chivalry combat shallow, mind you. It does, however, suffer from an issue with feints executed at the last possible moment. This gives the blocking player a ~100 ms window to determine whether to block or wait. This can turn blocking into a guessing game, instead of being based on reflexes and animation recognition. I very much doubt that the melee mechanics in Chivalry are going to survive as well as they have in Warband versus 3 years of player skill improvement
