Hah, seeing as I've lost all other weapon except my katana to the patch(nodachi(too high requirement, I have 15str) and pike(not sheathable) no longer wieldable). I'm down to 1 weapon I use and the same old lamellar vest. I actually get some benefit from this. Assuming we've deciphered chadz correctly.

Since it's permanent and is focused on your 'set' it has to involve your equipment, especially considering the whole 'understanding of thine arms ' stuff.

So yeah, best guess in my mind is something about your active equipment (armor, weapons, mount etc) is getting a slight boost (+armor, speed, maybe less requirements to wear or less upkeep?) is being permanently added to stuff.  Like someone said, maybe an alternate to heirlooming.

The big question is a) is it being shown on equipment or is it hidden?  b) what triggers it exactly? 

It would be cool if it lowers requirements to wear items.. the set you normally wear then 'becomes' your usual set even if you retire and are low level normally.

good question.. and does it also apply to the armor that you are not using but have ie. on your back? if so, is that particular weapon then also required for the bonus to take effect?

I got this message once a day into the patch, but at the time I was only wearing leather gloves and blue hose and wielding a long hafted spiked mace. I haven't noticed any difference, seeing as how my set up at the time is 14g in repairs and 0 weight but hopefully I can get it again.

Maybe it reduces weight, or increases speed? If you understand your equipment better, you might be more maneauverable in it, just an odd guess..

Since no response from chadz, I guess my earlier guess is still the closest one. Maybe we should work out from that? Better than searching in the dark...

I think what chadz meant with a set is that the bonus is applied to your equipment so if you change a lot then your gonna have boosted equipment that you don't use. So if you stay with one set then they get all the boosts and thus gets stronger.

Nope. Just like you are better fit with a [EXAMPLE] great long axe instead of a german poleaxe, it doesn't show anything. Just gotta remember it.

I don't know if it's been posted or not because I'm too lazy to fucking read the topic like a normal person =(

I got this message while using my pike (I had my armor, pike, and awlpike in my inventory). Masterwork pike, balanced awlpike. When I got the message, no changes ingame. However, on the site, it says I now have a tempered awlpike despite not actually using it for combat. I might remove the awlpike and see if I can upgrade some of my armor, assuming this isn't just a 1 time only thing.
