I noticed a huge difference from 6 to 7, but that was when I was new almost 2 years ago.
It's still a difference. The massive strenght/ironflesh stacking and loomed armors make life hard for shielders these days, as long as you don't use steel picks and shit like that. I respeced and now go for a 21/18 (lvl31) build, cause 6 ps feels too weak especially with low cut damage weapons.

I'd definitely choose this as my lvl 35 build:

Dear community members, thanks for your import. However 2H is a big no no. So, this is what I have in mind:

Option 1 - Most likely will be this. I'm not ranged fan (including throwing) and I'm bored of 2H so 1H and poles it is. Not impressive build (especially for level 35) but it is sturdy and reliable build which allows me to play any map I want any way I want. Want to be 1H cav, no problem. Want to be lancer, no problem. Want to be footman with a shield and a sword, no problemo. Want to use poleaxe/glaive/glb, again it's perfectly feasible. Want to be pikemy old friend, I can and be very effective as one. For me, this is ultimate melee hybrid build and closest build to simulate true knight. I've redistributed wpf like this because I'm fine with lower 1H wpf (I don't spam left swing, I prefer chambered attacks) and most importantly, because I want to have 100 effective wpf in brigandine with both polearm and one handed weapon.

***

Option 2 - xbowgaycav hybrid (thanks for tip arrowblood but I would kill myself after 20 minutes of playing that my old friendgy build)

***

Option 3 - Stronger than Butan (will have to respec again when wpf overhaul comes and I'm not sure I want to play as total strength douchebag in plate like b0nk for example)

Archery doesn't interest me on main, I thought about hybrid for a long time but those builds are simply bad for such high level. I'll make dedicated archer (most likely) or hybrid archer (less likely) out of my level 33 alt (which will be ready in half a year if current cRPG survives that long).
isnt that Lalien's build? (the 21/18 pole/1h

I think you should, at first, decide what class do you want to play.
After that i advise you to think which build do you like to play (stregth, balanced, agi)
If you want to play at strat battles you shouldn't do agi or multiclass builds (sad, but true)
After that you may try STF to test your build!  :)

I want to play hybrid build. I was pure 2H for 200 million XP as you can see. I want to play balanced build. I'm not interested in strategus atm and will not be until they make standalone game with open world strategus mode.

Riding: 3

Had 3 riding on my main before I used training lessons. It's useless.

I don't think so, haven't seen him with using one handed weapons. Ujin has similar build, difference is that he's lower level so he probably doesn't have IF.

Hoplite needs more shield and less WM. As pure Hoplite, you should take the Huscarl Shield.

3 cav is enough with a champion rouncey.

i dont know yet, but i think i will go either 18/24 or 15/27 for my endbuild. i use the long spear and the long awlpike and im not sure if the speed bonus will give more damage than extra powerstrike

For me 4 shield works fine since I use plate covered shield and warspear (which is really good weapon without shield), so my shield doesn't break too fast and I don't care even when it does. And yes, it's not really pure hoplite, but a hoplite/pure polearm hybrid  :)

Was even gonna do 120/120 on the wpfs, which is scary.  Tough though.  I've played with many a 0 IF build, but 27/12 pure pole infantry with full IF was disgusting, I can't imagine how awesome 27/18 would be.  Might wind up doing pure infantry, 21/21, 7 in all but 4 shield.  Oh the choices man.  Not sure I can throw away the ability to ride though.  If new armours come out, I'm gonna wanna waste my time retiring more too.

Can't you get a working 13 shield build at level 35 ?

I mean this :

Level 35 (142 278 448 xp)

    Strength: 9
    Agility: 39
    Hit points: 44

    Skills to attributes: 16

    Ironflesh: 0
    Power Strike: 3
    Shield: 13
    Athletics: 4
    Riding: 0
    Horse Archery: 0
    Power Draw: 0
    Power Throw: 0
    Weapon Master: 0

    One Handed: 1
    Two Handed: 1
    Polearm: 123
    Archery: 1
    Crossbow: 1
    Throwing: 1

Using arena shield + whatever difficulty 9 spear you like (including the light lance and the spear). It's the ultimate support hoplite.
