I suggest 1h/polearm, 24/15 or 21/18 with riding, 21/21 or 24/18 without.

1h/polearm with riding, you can play these classes:

1h+shield
2h polearm
hoplite
1h cav
lance cav

Fun things like
sheathable polearm + 1h cav mix
1h no shield

I've always thought about respeccing to a pure build, but the build is too fun.
(My build was geared for 34. Could get more agi/riding/ath at the cost of IF, but I like the bulk)

I'd say avoid the 7 PS builds as a 1-hander. Go for either 18 or 24 Strength. The difference between 6 and 7 PS has never struck me as worthwhile (with a 1-hander)- more athletics would serve better.
You think you're pretty smart with your dago mustache and your greasy hair.

Now you say something like this when I plan on a 21/21 build. Great mala. Just great.

Athletics is a bit overrated imho, if you're not hunting archers or fighting cav or just being s key hero.

7 PS will be useful when mounted and will help to dish out that extra damage to one hit many folks with GLB

Also, I doubt Long Maul can crush trough anything with just 18 str, just like Mallet can't. 21 str isn't ideal for CT weapons but it is quite decent, especially with mighty weapons I'm planning to use.

Two years ago, answer to this dilemma would be 15/30 build with 10 ath 8 WM in polearms. I would use only two weapons, MW Awlpike and MW Bec de Corbin

I noticed a huge difference from 6 to 7, but that was when I was new almost 2 years ago.

Just one simple question, is it true that horsearchery also helps for throwing and crossbow on horse?

Btw : cute puppy

Also you could go 24/18 if you drop a few points in WM, shield, athletics and IF.

Level 35 (142 278 448 xp)

Strength: 7
Agility: 36
Hit points: 42
Skills to attributes: 6
Ironflesh: 0
Power Strike: 0
Shield: 0
Athletics: 0
Riding: 12
Horse Archery: 6
Power Draw: 0
Power Throw: 0
Weapon Master: 12

One Handed: 1
Two Handed: 1
Polearm: 1
Archery: 1
Crossbow: 210
Throwing: 1

Fastest and deadliest creature in crpg in combination with +3 steelbolts light xbow and a courser.

Horse Archery is useless for mounted xbows

And here is my lvl 35 build (actually lvl 32) :

Hit Points : 69
Strength: 24
Agility: 15
Ironflesh: 5
Power Strike: 8
Shield: 5
Athletics: 0
Riding: 3
Power Throw: 7
Weapon Master: 5

1h : 100
Pole : 54
Throwing : 120

1h/shield + throwing lance/hoplite + cav
This is my perfect hybrid. I can play it in many ways for months.

I think you should, at first, decide what class do you want to play.
After that i advise you to think which build do you like to play (stregth, balanced, agi)
If you want to play at strat battles you shouldn't do agi or multiclass builds (sad, but true)
After that you may try STF to test your build!  :)

I never tried, I just refer to the game mechanic thread...
