but she already talks of that event, she says something like "the lord shows me the future bla blub" in response to renly asking what he does about 100000 soldiers from renly. Then they make child, probably they thought a little pregnancy-time was needed or something.

I just dont like the way how Stannis is tricked into this "I will give you son" like a drooling doggy. Though of it as a kind of same blood magic performed at the end of A Game of Thrones but  aswell had thought of this "extraordinary" sexual bond between Mel and Stannis that it was purely without any emotions, hopes or lies. Tough and necessary deal for both of them.

But perhaps were witnessing the "thing" which will  make Stannis marching on King's Landing without Mel's advice and help in movie wise sense, we'll see.

Yeah, didn't exactly seem like breaking news to me, I don't think anyone doubted it would get a third season lol.

seems they bought themselves some time: "This one will cover (roughly) the first half or thereabouts of A STORM OF SWORDS, the third novel in the series."

So there are about 4 seasons to come before they need a new book.

But there is a lot of guessing involved, I don't think 1 Book will be 1 Season anymore and I bet they won't do the character splitting Martin did in Books 4 + 5.
