90 or 65-75 with "Reduce blah blah input lag" option on.

when having fps jumping around between 90 and 200, what would be best in your opinion with 60 hz monitor, capping at 60, 90, 120, 180? :)

Cap at 60, if you have a 60 hz monitor you can only see 60 fps anyway.

Be careful because the cap limits FPS of everything in the engine, including input. 60 FPS will feel way less responsive (especially if you don't enable the input lag reduction option).

This isn't like people going on the crysis forums and asking why their 10 year old computer can't play it. Warband has always had dx7, my bad computer has been able to run this game since open beta. This is a game we've all played fine and still do play, and now because functionality is being removed we won't be able to.

I mean this is a free mod so whatever, it's just lame that I won't be able to play it anymore for such a silly reason.

Don't be selfish, we can't halt the evolution of the mod just because you can't keep up.

My comp is 5 years old. Its a windows desktop (not a crappy one) and playing DX9 with even the lowest settings makes the game skip and lag like a MOFO. Idk if devs are trying to eliminate the lag a little more for WSE2. But all i know is that my computer will not let me play efficiently with DX9 atm.

My pc should be able to run Warband on max settings with stable fps but since i hate progress and i'm already used to DX7 after using it when Warband was released on my old pc that i prefer it tbh, will we have to use WSE2 in the future to play cRPG?

I have a 60 Hz monitor as well and I play at 125 constant fps, and I do notice the difference. People who claim you cannot see a difference beyond 60 fps probably never got a framerate better than that, or they are blind. Movement (animations) is a lot more fluid and the mouse is a lot more responsive.

yeah, this is so true. I am no pc expert but additionaly it seems to me that a high number of frames per second - at least in the way it is mostly measured in pc games - is by no means an exact indicator of a smooth and highly reactive gaming experience. With my current GPU I don't notice much difference if the fps number displayed is 100 or 70 or what, with the GPU I had before the difference was huge and games in general tend to feel more clumsy/stuttering even with the exact same fps. I'm sure this can be technically explained...

It's also different from game to game. I think in Witcher 2, for example, I had to set pre-rendered frames to 1, or else I would get horrible stuttering, even though the framerate was around 60. Or Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood, in which I always had very high FPS, but the game literally hurt my eyes. It felt somehow...jerky and not fluid. Unfortunately, I couldn't find a solution there.

You can see more than 60, yes...in various ways this helps your gameplay be smooth.

However, you will not notice the difference between 120 and 500 I would say.  500 is kinda rediculous.
Not much reason to have FPS max at more than 120 or 160 or so tops.

Yes.
So yes as in this wse2 update will be mandatory? I think it's a big mistake but anyways what is the time frame on this mandatory update? Nobody responded to my previous post but I as well as others are stuck using dx7 for the time being. It's going to take me a few months at least to get a new machine or fix my old one(which I don't even know if it's worth fixing). I have 1000's of hours invested in this mod and do not want to stop playing:(
