I hope they scrap this client because of this. DX7 gameplay is so much better than DX9, no camera issues, no warping, no rubberbanding, etc. I have 500+ avg FPS with the new client on my desktop, but I still hate playing with it because its just not as nice as DX7 gameplay.

Funny thing is all of the issues you listed are completely unrelated from the renderer.

I have 500+ avg FPS...

500+ FPS?

I'm no expert on this but I'm pretty sure that between the human eye and monitor refresh rates that you can't see anywhere near 500 FPS.

I have 830ish at loading screens, and between 380-640 while playing. There's a little meter that tells you what it is... I'm not counting the frames per second with my eye.

Not sure....if....serious....or trolling.

......yeah, I know you're not "counting them with your eyes"...and yes I know about the counter.
If you're mocking me - don't.  If you're really confused - I'm sorry.

I was pointing out that I don't think the effect of having 500 FPS is discernible (able to be discerned; perceptible) to the human eye.

This could be causing you more problems than helping you.  Might be better to just set your FPS max to like 120 or something.
But I'll leave that to people that know more about that like cmp and such.

380-640 FPS while playing? Are you running on super hardware and Abysmal settings or what?
And like Elindor said, horrible idea. A good FPS limit for high-end machines is 120-ish.

What else besides ragdolls could cause problems for the CPU? Of course, the sheer number of people will, but you can't really influence that. Maybe the number of bodies has also a small effect?

I can't really test it, because I have good FPS, but it might be interesting to know for those wanting to upgrade their system with a new videocard only.

Bodies has very little to no effect on the CPU.
Things that can be really heavy are particle systems, skeletal animation, collision checking, ragdolls, agent movement and probably more.

I have a good computer, and I had a problem while I was using Win XP (freezing, fps drop, etc.). After I installed Win 7, (with the same configuration) all the problems are gone.

when having fps jumping around between 90 and 200, what would be best in your opinion with 60 hz monitor, capping at 60, 90, 120, 180? :)
