Let's ask the GO about ways to exploit this, but sounds alright to me.
Would the transaction in fiefs require to pay the tax to the fief owner? As that would make having lands more important.
I wasn't thinking of adding tax. I was thinking of the easiest most simple way to do it. If you had to start paying tax on it, then all sorts of complications come into being and that's not the point. K.I.S.S. Nothing complicated.
Why would someone convert gold to grain if he can lose the grain but not the gold? :
If you meant that you can only use grain to pay your troops: You would get big problems, if you get attacked several times and don't have enough grain with you for several days.
That's the point. Grain pays for troops. You win battle: get their grain. You loose: you lose all grain. If you lose, though, you get auto set down to 0 troops and have to recruit back for more(takes 4.5 days from 0 i hear) and you pay no upkeep for those.
Trying to keep it simple. Grain = Gold but Gold doesn't pay for troops. You still will have gold runners, but you would need (semi) active people otherwise your armies will die from no grain. Right now, you can effectively pay for upkeep(on afk or otherwise) by puttin gold on them. With this, you'd have to have people convert to grain and then drop it to them making "army upkeep" running impossible to do safely.
He didn't say that. Derp!
Grain would have exactly 1:1 with gold(so 1 grain is 1 gold) and it's only purpose would be to pay for army upkeep
Interesting idea, though I'd rather just have gold be lootable on it's own. I guess the biggest reason against that is people who play a lot of cRPG but no Strat are just freebie gold-mines waiting to be harvested?
Yes. In addition, it adds a dynamic to prevent AFKs from just having shit tons of gold on them and their armies. You gotta have "grain runners" so to speak if you want to wage a war. Otherwise, you equip tons of grain on armies(or lots of gold for the armies to convert gold to grain as they go). meaning that for armies to press a war, they have to be staffed right and not just tons of horded gold.
