I've changed my mind.

Lancing (atleast with heavy lance) is ridiculous now. I feel harmless and pathetic.
Sure I can still do well but it's getting annoying when the damage output is silly low.

Horse archers get away all the time from thrusts and couch lances that would prepatch one hit kill them.
Same with all light armoured ranged... But especially horse archers have it a lot easier now.

Playing as a lancer now is almost like playing a different game compared to how it was prepatch.
Regular lance is the only way to go now I guess (unless they nerf that one too).

Going horse archer feels quite tempting. Horse archers top the scoreboard on EU_1 all the time now.
I'll hit level 35 in 1,5 million xp. Then I'll just buy training lessons and go for this:

I'm happy about this because people should've been using "Lance" in the first place! It has superior stats and did pre-patch as well. You're on a horse, you can't S-key, so the extra reach shouldn't matter. It's all about that damage!

The reach is a bit important, as it is the difference with most lances between a Danish right-swinging you off your horse, and a one-hander right-swinging you off. You do want to out-reach as many people as possible, like the old 90 degree broadsides.

I did 4 gens with a cav on a desert horse with a regular lance. weapon speed and manueverability got me more kills than heavy lance and courser ever did.

Why are people crying about jousting nerf? cav is ridiculous OP still and jousting was a joke, fact that you guys can knockdown anyone every time and not to mention  the speed bonus damage you get when swinging at someone..   stop whining be glad they didn't nerf cav altogether

Also becareful you lancer cav guys, if lancer cav is too hard for you you might be surprised how much harder every other build in the game is. If your that bothered just use a shorter lance, so waht some more people with very logn weapons can hit you, 1h cav deals with it on a much more severe level with no problem.

Also as someone who is shot at by archer cav maybe every other round, they do no damage really, i sometimes dont even try to avoid the arrows. But tis fair given how hard they are to kill.

I don't play as a lancer because it's "OP" or the easiest class for me. I simply play it because I like the speed and the mobility.
I top the scoreboard as 2H as well so don't tell me lancing is easy. Everything is easy (and everything is hard).
Actually I top the scoreboard no matter what class I play.

An arrow takes 1/2 - 1/4 of a +3 arabian warhorse's health, given it's not hit in the head. So it clearly hurts.
Horse archers and horse crossbowmen are the best classes in the game against melee cavalry unless you didn't know.
Every round I have to be aware of these HA's and HX's and stay away from them or I will lose my horse. Especially dangerous are the HX as they usually have higher riding (10 is normal).
