Tell us about your hometown.

I come from Helsinki, the capital of Finland.

Theres about 600k people here and few hundred thousand in the neighbour "cities". I count Helsinki as the only real city in Finland besides Turku.

Tønsberg, oldest city in Norway, iconic by its tower standing on top of the mountain located in the middle / outskirt of the town.

I live in a village of 2000 people called Kimpton. Points of interest are 2 pubs, a corner stores, a primary school, the memorial hall and a church:

I started thinking about it but looked at that sign. Bugger.

Anyway here are some pictures from my hometown, about 10.000 people live here, it's a very "asleep" town with only a few points of interest.

For a small town in central Hungary, we have like.. five churches. Quite overkill if you ask me!

Trying to dig up more but good pictures that show everything are a rarity. Same thing is photographed like 30 times. haha

Baldone, a settlement of 5000 people not far from the city of Rīga. Counts as a city for whatever reason.
Points of interest: Primary/secondary school, music school, a rather old church, sulphur water springs and mud (with healing properties), a now defunct sanatorium that made use of these and the largest telescope in the Baltics, as part of an astronomy-related complex.

Rostov on Don, a 1 million population southern Russian city where:

everyone still knows each other in the neighborhoods,

if you are a guest at someone's home you are at a high risk of dying from overeating cause they will feed you with uber tasty and equally unhealthy food  till you beg for mercy,

ladies are gorgeous and easy going till they turn about 40 (and then they turn fat due to reasons mentioned before),

people speak russian  in a funny southern  way, similar to Ukrainians.

everything is about 10x times slower than in Moscow
