This too. Vaegir knights are not excellent.

true. though sarranid master archers thingys rock the world quite well,  considering them having such a strong cav and inf force.

i did always love the vaegirnas though . )

In native SP, for me its Vaegir, but in native MP, rhodok is the best ( khergit is not allowed usually ) long spears, crushtrough, sharpshooters...

Vaegirs are just dirty communist inspired faction.

Swadians are just gay idiots who constantly breaks alliances and good relations.

Khergits are weeaboo scum

Nords are racist scum


Rhodoks are badass xbow-ers and spearmen = Ultimate teamwork and Sarranids got epic epic castles and cities as well as badass cav.

I usually lean towards Rhodoks, though my army is typically an amalgamation. Vaegir + Sarranid archers, Rhodok Crossbowmen and Spearmen, Swadian and Khergit cavalry, Nord Huscarls.

In native I usually just keep having Swadian Knights. This also reminds me of PoP mod. Were I had like army only made out of Noldor archers. First 15 seconds of the battle and they already shot and killed like 150 troops. Nomatter what army, nomatter against how many, this was always the outcome. Funny as hell.

I typically try to have a variety.  I typically pick up nord footmen right off the bat, since they are the best infantry, and the most useful for sieges.  Vaegir sharpshooters are the ranged I like to have.  And Sarranid horsemen (mamlukes) are my favorite horsemen.

If I had to only pick one faction however, I'd say it would be the Vaegirs for the most well rounded.  They have archers, pretty heavily armored footmen for the top units, and pretty heavily armed horsemen/knights as well.

An all nord army is great for sieges, but is slow on the map, and gets destroyed versus khergits or an almost all cavalry army. And conversely Khergits fly across the map and rape in open battles, but suck at sieges.

try army mixture of 50 sarranid master archers and 50 mamlukes and 10 5-10 sarranid guards to guard archers, I havent lost any battle with that, but archers must be on the top of party so u have like 50 archers 10-20 mamlukes and 3-5 guards. Its really OP.

I've always loved nords. Their infantry is badass and destroy enemies in sieges and open battles. They do poorly against khergits in open battle by themselves but their throwing does enough damage that I never worried about any other faction. Khergits were annoying to fight true but nord infantry could still hold their own unless the khergits got smart and didn't charge into their lines like they did almost every battle.

When I did warband SP though, I always tried to have at least 10 of each faction's best troops as a sort of honor guard. It was my way of pretending that I showed the people that I was trying to unite not destroy. I always just went on my own and did trade runs until one faction I was willing to war with took a castle or town worth taking then I went to war with them, taking a very undefended and wealthy fief.

And for some reason that fief was almost always Dhirim. The swadians could never hold that place.

Dhirim is intended as a quite rich zone that attracts all the factions but that can't be well defended by any of them. Swadians own it at start because swadia has the worst geopolitic situation in warband, having to go to war with all the other factions regularly (but that's also why they have the strongest cav + inf combined forces).
