I was actually also thinking about making a duel map, with 4 areas and a central spawn. Melee arena, Horse track(arena with a jousting area somewhere in the middle or to the sides), Archery range and a big grass plain for mixed fights, with some ruins and cover here and there, for larger groups etc.
A central spawn with equal distance to all 4 areas and easily accessible routes to all 4 areas, would make it way more smoother for everyone to navigate. Compare this concept to what we have now, just Ruins basically and really stupid spawns.
I have a few more ideas:
Members of groups will always spawn on other members or on the first one who spawns (for example in elimination, you will get temporarily removed from the group or your name gets greyed out and you won't spawn until either there's only one player remaining or your group has been wiped out in for example Group Tournament mode).
This removes the nuisance of always spawning in the central area (and also decreases the amount of lazy morons who duel in the central spawn) and having to run back to where you died. Ultimately, Harald could make a code that prevents dueling anywhere but the 4 areas.
