This is the worst idea. Strat ruined.
What's wrong with it? The positives I see are:
1. It might revitalize the strat for crpg gold selling market. The round could go on for a year for all we know, a lot of gold could be sold in the meantime.
2. Strategus glory > looms that only give you an advantage over new players on regular servers.
3. An incentive for more casual and clanless players to get involved in Strategus.
