Effective WPF Question
« on: August 17, 2012, 05:15:45 pm »

I've always thought that effective WPF reduction from armor weight starts over 7 weight, and that helmet weights are multiplied by 3 and glove weight multiplied by 2 in the equation.

However, looking at the mechanics thread now it is saying helmets are multiplied by 2 and gloves by 4....is this true?

Also, Im hearing rumors that the effective WPF reduction starts over 11.5 weight now.  Can anyone verify this?

Sweet dude thanks.

He says "archers" but isnt the threshold the same for everyone?
It would have to be, since theres no classes...

You mean that throwers and archers wpf is also reduced by power draw and power throw respectively?  Or something else?

He was asking a question not making a statement. So no, he wasn't "WRONG"

AFAIK, archery uses the formula mentioned above and each power draw reduces your wpf by 14. I don't think anyone knows for sure the effective wpf for throwing, but this could be it:

Quote
Throwing Armor Weight = head armor weight * 6 + torso armor weight * 2 + leg armor weight * 2 + hand armor weight * 8 - 10

What? I don't understand. Why would increasing PD decrease WPF?

Because otherwise everyone would be retarded min maxing high pd archer. They can do that now, but they will have low wpf, so they won't hit every shot (but when they do they hurt)

Does PS also reduce melee WPF?

And wait, so if I have 120 WPF and 5 PD, I have an effective WPF of 50? That sucks.

PD reduces archery wpf by 14
PT reduces throwing wpf similarly

These have no effect on PS or melee wpf as far as I know

Yup, assuming you are not suffering any additional penalties from rain or armor.

What a crock of shit. And I hear people arguing that archers need nerfed? Good lord.

Does PT also remove WPF?

Formula from that thread is out of date.  Head & hand penalties are cut in half now, x3 x4 respectively
