Give the courser some love

Seems to me it kinda lost its edge over other horses.  Its speed isnt high enough to make a difference like the maneuver boost you get from an arab.

So,  as a biased little courser lover,  I would like this horse buffed a bit.  imo the market appreciation of it also displays its shortcomings.

I would like to hear opinions of people who know what they are talking about.  After all,  I aint talking about bow-balancing either : )


my suggestion:  either +1 speed or +15 HP

reasoning:  either of the two makes it better vs (mounted) ranged,  a feature otherwise only achieved by maneuver,  that it does not have,  or maybe armor.

must admit that i just love being fast and miss the old speed of it.

God no! That speed may not feel like much to you, but to inf it's a hell of a lot harder to watch out for coursers than any other cav.

Yankees don't know about Arabians ;). I think Torben has a point. I choose champ arabian over my champ courser 9 or 8 times out of 10. Reason is simply manouver, and thus the ability to dodge arrows. Courser is predictable and easy to hit with ranged weapons. Due to it's speed and large size it dies really fast. I would maybe give it some HP... Speed buff could be too much asked .

Why not both ... or lets say +1 spd, +5 to 10 HP .. its an expensive piece of meat and be worth the price.

If some Cav hater comes along i would argue that the problem of Cav in cRPG is not the minor differences in HP of horses but the way a team deals with it and is aware of it... since (as i mentioned in other posts) the advantage of cav is due to the tactical layer it is acting on compared to other classes (inf) , due to the speed difference. I also go with what Kafein once said :Cav can be easily dealt with due teamwork, so make Cav  stronger and get better teamwork in return, its fine by me ;)

Any speed buff has to be countered by a maneuver nerf (or vice versa), cav is already OP, we're seeing it in battle every day.

how about you just nerf the arabian instead, the courser is cheap because it is by far the most used horse at least on NA_1, asking for buffs is a troll, mods please move this thread to spam

Compared with Destrier and Arabian, Courser indeed sux.

Having higher maximum speed also means that it's harder to maneuver the horse. Giving more maneuver to courser won't make it the same as Destrier because courser usually runs faster and because of that is harder to maneuver.

It should get +2 speed, to become Arabian in a mirror. Arabian has a lot less HP and armor, but it's smaller and maneuver is a lot better stat than horse speed. They aren't equal.

speed and maneuver have been nerfed on top of lance angle.  battlefield awareness has risen a lot since then.  this alone should allow us to think about a sleight buff.

pike has been introduced.  higher damage to legs.  heavy lance damage nerf.  etc etc.

furthermore,  the higher bodyarmor and hp get balanced out by speed damage bonus
