since there were some speculations but no concrete answers i have used my current char generation for a small test if the strength has an effect on your movement speed.

to make it short, there is none.

COOL DUDE, NOW TRY WITH DIFFERENT ATHLETICS AND AGILITY.

already done, somewhere burried in the archive.
the result was as expected, ath makes you move faster and armour slows you down a bit, but not that much.

Can you test 18\18 and 24\18 chars with same weight of equip?

tbh 24\18 must be faster, if not, than there is place for work for developers.

I made some tests for myself a few month ago with different builds and noticed that ATH doesn't make such a big difference. My running test was around 25 seconds and the difference was like 1-2 seconds. My main has a 30/9 build with 3 ATH and I'm not so much slower than the rest of the group. Its only noticeable if running for a very long distance or chasing some archer. In a running test of 10 seconds there is most likely no noticable difference. You should run for a longer distance at least.
The logic of war seems to be that if a belligerent can fight he will fight.

in my previous test i have used extremly short ranges with  changes in direction . there you could "feel" the weight a bit, but the difference between light and heavy was still not that big.

Any test can show what player feel while playing on battle with all these cavs, archers and Inf-variation around.
Stop cheating.

So you can post relative information, rather than shouting everybody cheats?

Although i prefer higher AGI builds such as 15/21 normally, i have to use an okish weapon rather than rely on pure str to deal the damage, you will find that lower strength players normally know where to hit the player for the most damaged bonus, rather than relying on pure armour and STR crutch.

Yet i would say in melee STR is more useful than AGI, i would use AGI if only really playing crossbowman or archer as your going to use that more than relying on strength

Athletics speed bonus might be not too big if you test it in running straight, but I believe ath also increases your maneuverability which is more noticable if you duel or fight in battle.
Also it isn't really supposed to be a very big bonus, just 5% per athletics point.

dude in mechanics thread tested it and said its 2.2% per point of althetics.

My question is does it increase ACCELERATION starting speed . otherwise it would be pretty useless skill.

I thought ath only increased acceleration and not top speed anyway? So if 2 chars one with more agi and both wear same armour. The difference should only really be noticeable on the acceleration. Unless ath reduces affects of armour weight?

Just read last two posts so yeah I was wrong  :P

Strength should reduce armor weight

Just a thought.

agi increases movement speed overall, Ath increases acceleration speed, str counters weight penalty applied by heavy armor
i think agi even increases attackspeed

so unless u'r dueling, ath is pretty pointless imo, my main character has none... (cuz i don't duel currently)
