I had a fun run with the game and beat it twice but the PvP was ridiculous the second time through with twinks sitting in the burg the entire time, little to no invasions outside of Anor Londo and/or just terrible netcode/matchmaking and things like getting stopped mid-roll and stabbed in the back.
And how!

The GFWL is kinda bad bud you can find some invasions after a while. For me the most active time is around 23 - 0:01. Dark Anor Londo and Darkroot garden got plenty. And if you want some more fair PvP fights just hit up the steam group, usually there are around 20 + people doing invasions / PvP.

Hi,

So I am playing games as ever, later then eveyone else. But now I am in my first playthrough of Dark Souls, hit Lvl 50 with my agility Hunter Longbow+7 / Iatito +7 / Astoras Straight Sword and I feel fit to fight the spider witch Quelaag and hope to ring the second bell.

I tried not to look into the guids to much, so I am a bit confused becouse of the many options I have now.

Would I miss something important if I went for the bell now?

What I did until now: Taurus Demon, Capra Demon, Gargoyles with first Bell, Gaping Dragon and Moonlight Butterfly.

Should I try the catacombs (and maybe rescue Rhea of Thorlund), or the watchtower basement key I got after Moonlight Butterfly, or should I get cursed once again and try the New Londo Ruins with that Ghosts - or venture further into the Valley of Drakes or could I try the hydra, my last enemy in darkroot????

Also I am not shure if I should make one of my secondary weapons (falchion, partizan) holy weapon (I gave the divine ember to the smith in undead parish). I have 15 faith now, but dont plan to raise it much higher atm.

Pleas help me to decide what to do next. I dont want to read it all in the guides. Just a little hint is all I need.

And another one: I kinda like the gargoyle axe and helmet. Should I waste some of my special junks on raising them, or should I save them for even better stuff to come????

Come on push yourself and help a lost soul

hydra and blighttown, after second bell you will know where to go, then keep following that path.

You wouldn't.

the watchtower basement key I got after Moonlight Butterfly

You should check out the watchtower basement.

or should I get cursed once again and try the New Londo Ruins with that Ghost

You should. You might find something very useful there since you're playing with a bow.

venture further into the Valley of Drakes

Not yet.

Should I try the catacombs (and maybe rescue Rhea of Thorlund)

You will get there soon enough, dont bother for now.

could I try the hydra, my last enemy in darkroot?

Not main plot related so you can do it whenever you feel like you're good enough.

Also I am not shure if I should make one of my secondary weapons (falchion, partizan) holy weapon (I gave the divine ember to the smith in undead parish). I have 15 faith now, but dont plan to raise it much higher atm.

Astora's sword is holy dmg so no, no point.

And another one: I kinda like the gargoyle axe and helmet. Should I waste some of my special junks on raising them, or should I save them for even better stuff to come?

I'd keep your 'special junks' for other things.
Mods compatible with cRPG. New crosshairs, textures, sounds, yay.

Thank you! This makes my decission a bit less of a pain. I tried to beat the guard in the basement. I think I will have to chew a bit on this one. But thats the game. I will find a way to kill this bastard. I mean he is slow. I just need to study his patterns some more times or try fire and poison... ahhh. and rund in again and die. Did I say I am getting very addicted to this game?  :P

The 'curse' of dark souls ;). Try different tactics. Different weapons, experiment. You got the thinking right. Analyze it, be very defensive while you do that.

I started watching that impressions video but fuck wish i hadnt clicked it. rather go in blind. sucks the pc version is later for this reason.

as long as its a decent pc port im buying it. actually buying it at launch. big deal for a beggar like me. I think the last game I payed full price for was skyrim back in 2011 ;/

I hope the pvp justifies not piratebaying it. I'm guessing pvp will be best at launch when everyone is on reasonably even playing field, and there aren't so many hacks/cheaters yet.
