Lets talk about armor...

In my opinion armor is not worth the money anymore.
The reason is not that you cant get armor that really rocks if you heirloom them (>70 body armor seems ro really rock)
The reason is that i actually feel no really difference between a 2k and a 8k armor for example. (unless armor only should prevent you from being oneshot by archers...)

Actually i die by 2 hits most of the time. I also do kill other people most of the time in 1-2 hits.
It doesnt really matter anymore if someone is highly armored or not. At least the difference  isnt worth the money.

Perhaps my opinion is wrong and nothing changed because everybody is 30 now and deals so much damage that no armor can help anymore,
but who else thinks that armor is not really worth the difference in prices anymore?

Armor does matter. For example, you 1-2 hit most people, no matter if they use armor for 2k or 8k, right?

But look at low level chars (aka peasants) - if you use 2k armor, you have almost no protection vs them. Few hits and you die to peasants! Shame on you! But if you use 8k armor, you won't die to a peasant in 4hits, but in 7hits. That IS the difference.

Same vs archers.

+ there is just too many of str chars, that's why armor doesnt matter too much vs high level chars - if someone has 10 ps, he is going to 1-2hit you no matter if you use lamellar vest or banded armor

And do you really think that its worth to pay 10k more to be safe from a peasant.
Personally i do use 4 armors regulary.
Yellow tunic over mail, Heraldic mail, Heraldic transitional armor and Gothic plate.

I cant see me being really more sucessful with the two heavy ones vs the two cheaper ones.
The difference in price is between 12k and 20k. I also could use a good x-bow for that money and
that really would change something.

But like i said thats what i am feeling in battle perhaps others (like you) made different expierences.

For better survivability use steel shield with black armor.

Joke, of course.

How many points in IF do you have?

That point is interessting.
Actually regardless to what people say you really feel the difference of high IF vs no IF.

Atm i have 6IF last build i had 8IF the build before that was 0 IF.
It helps but it helps in every armor.

I probably will go for at least 7 IF in every future build.

One of the best reasons to wear armor is friendly fire. FF is set to 50% on cRPG servers so the standard teamhit is weakish. Armor helps alot to make it a glancing blow or at least to reduce the damage alot.

Armor does make a difference in my experiance, I tested it the other day. I normally run red gambeson/blue hose/leather gloves on my shield/xbow character and go down in 1 from a strong player 2 hits from other players. When I wear klappvisier/heraldic transitional/cased greaves/leather gloves It takes 5 or so from a strong player or 8+ from lesser players. If this is with 0 IF I can imagine how some beasts with decent IF can take bodyshots from throwing lances and live for example.
Maybe you are not bad, but you are a boring person. Well, that's the end of the matter.

5 hits from a strong player???? With 0 IF??? I cant believe that.

I think, that Peasant_Woman didn't take into consideration few factors:

- speed bonus
- weapon

I've got 7 IF and when wearing a Sugarloaf Helmet and Trans. armor, I can take multiple throwing axes to the head, unless they are being thrown by a pure throwing specialist.

In my opinion decent armor is always required, but top class stuff (plates etc.) just don't make enough difference to be useful. They weight a lot, cost like **** and really make 1-2 hit difference in hits when compared to "affordable" stuff. Only reason I ever wear them is for looks. Perhaps heavy plate armors could have extra glancing chance?

11 IF
11 PS

in full plate armor

I 1 hit mostly everyone & take a ridiculous amount of hits to finally go down.
with this build atm I hardly even have to block because most will glance off me or just not do enough noticeable damage.

Other str builds and pierce/blunt weapons are my only true fear atm as I stomp through the battlefield.

this is me talking about armor, I also somehow steadily make an income while using 60k+ gear sitting at a 2+ K/d not that kill death means anything, and this build has never stepped out of the armor, not once.

these are my observations so far, definitely miss having athletics.

IMO armor is fine, it's useful but it's not godly.

all just my opinions of my experiences take it whatever way you want.

Keep wearing your crappy armor so you can get lit up like a pin cushion from the hailstorm of projectiles flying in the air.

Also, so I can one-shot you with my lulzy poleaxe.

11 IF
11 PS

in full plate armor

Imagine this guy in armor, that protects more then now?.. He will be close to impossible to kill, for someone who uses "light weapons". Agility based 1h-ers, archers with back-up weapons, "ninja types", all of them will be useless against such a beast :)

Meah... Just let it be as it is.
