The recent polls, even if not adressing all players, showed interesting results

1h players really have the choice, 72 weapons to take. My impression is that players always take the same 10 1handers though, true or false?

Note: the question is if you are dependent on a 1 weapon (no additional spears, no horse or other equipment), only one. What would you bring into battle?

It depends.

Siege = short 1h weapons, blunt or pierce for clusterfuck on walls.

Battle = Long swords for added survivability, and of course more versatility.

So, siege I'd either take a steel pick and for battle I'd take any of the high-tier swords. I forgot to mention, but I don't use a shield so other 1handers are probably going for weapons with pretty high damage like the military cleaver and warhammer.

Elite Scimitar, Warhammer and Arabian Cavalry Sword are my picks.

Elite for all-around, Warhammer for clusters, Cavalry for long range high dmg.

Italian Sword, Winged Mace, Military Clever. I would like to use broadsword but it have fucked up stats of sucking so i don't even touch it.

Same is going to be true for any weapons.  I dunno how many two-handers there are but I'm sure you can narrow the list down to less than 10 that really get used.

It's less a question of balance a more a question of most weapons being lower ranked versions of something else, which you would only use if you were trying to save money.

As bjord mentioned it depends on what gamemode i'm playing for battle I prefer the Italian sword and for siege i'd grab a warhammer, this is ofcourse if I would be limited by that I usually switch weapons every round just for the fun. If you would ask me to limit to only one weapon i'd have to constantly use, in both siege and battle, i'd go for the Italian, allthough i'm still practicing to stab well, instead of relying on slash attacks, nice stab weapon.

Broad 1h battle axe (or steel pick) for siege.  Knightly arming (or long arming) sword for battle.
