Today, Tanken_KUTT came into NA_1 and said in game for people to sign up for his Curaw battle in 2-3 hours. I said, "Okay, I'll sign up for the other side." He then said, "Figures. I'll make sure the battle is before you bedtime." I then said that I didn't have a bedtime and that I bet his parents still put him to bed every night because he always cries like a baby. Then unfortunately I said, "TANKEN TRIED KILLING HIMSELF. It's funny that Tanken insults everyone's lives when he tried killing himself." Then Tanken, of course, thinking he knows everything and being dumb as ever, says that I insulted him first and to check logs, when he clearly called me a little kid first. He also said that he told me specifically that he was inviting me to the Strategus battle, which obviously was not true... and he said to check logs. So he thens says I'm going to get banned... etc.
Yes, I agree I deserve to get in trouble. No, I do not agree that I deserve a ban. I said something personal in game... SAID something. This should get me banned from PLAYING? Why not a mute or a kick? People use homophobic and racial slurs/insults all the time, and the only time people get in trouble is when it's a racial slur and Ganner is on. As far as I'm concerned, those insults can also be personal offences, as Tanken took my comment.
I look back at this post, and it makes me wonder why nothing happened to Tanken as a result:

Tanken confirmed that right after and stupidly said he told Allers to tell me, "Sorry," which I hardly call an apology, because he didn't have my Steam or Forum account. Yes, Tanken, I'm sure you don't know how to PM on forums.
Kaoklai also made a post (which happens to be +15) saying basically the same thing I did except that there were even more insults put in there--nothing happened to Kaoklai, and I don't want him to get in trouble, which I doubt will happen because it's been such a long time. I just gave two examples of this kind of situation on forums, and I will bet there are more. I can also bring up the comment if someone finds it necessary.
I told Ganner that I didn't see anything on the Official Rules page that said anything about drawing the line between "personal insults" and what exactly was a "personal insult," which he said were bannable for 24-72 hours. He replied saying that the developers had told what personal insults were to admins... but how exactly are the general players supposed to know about this? This is not meant to be a drama thread--just really an example that shows why something needs to change. And I'll leave that for the rule makers to decide, and if it's not clear, ask me.
Tanken... sad. That is all. Oh, and his Steam picture:
