Adding assists next to kills would indeed be a nice thing! Im not fond of the point system but this would be nice.

As for the trowers/ pikers here, horse kill count could be nice :P (only counting kills of enemy mounted horses)

Would this not lag the server even more? It is not a simple 0, 1 operation.

Just a thought.

I have thought about that as well.

According to SgtTeeh the damage is already being tracked by the server. Don't know if the level of the player being damaged is tracked as well though.
The point calculations can be done by the clients after each round to prevent lag from disturbing the gameplay.

No need to see all points real time imo and I think it will be more exciting to see it after each round.
You could for example show the best 5 players and their points of the previous round in the chat log. I'm sure some players would appreciate that :)

Seems like a fairly good idea. I have always wanted to see a point based system for the frag list. Back in the day you would get different amounts of experienced based on the level of the person who died near you. You got a bit more for killing of course but it was still based on the level of the opponent. I think the point system needs to have a bit more of a complicated formula for it. You need to have more of a sliding reward system. If you do damage to a person of similar level to you, you should receive an average amount of points per point of damage you do to the player. If the player is lower level than you, you will get less points per point of damage and more points per point if they are higher than you.

So if a level 1 peasant runs up to a level 32 veteran player, one could argue that he is taking a much higher risk than if he were to go for a lower level player. Thus he would be rewarded proportionally to the risk he took.

That's my thoughts on it. I can clear up a few questions about the damage system. You can track the amount of damage a player does fairly easily. You can see if a horse is mounted when it was hit fairly easily. I was working on a mod a while ago and spent much of my time learning the limitations and capabilities of the modding system.

I would like to see kills, damage and points on scoreboard and something extra. Medals like in CoD games but not really medals but icons representing medieval military ranks.

Seems like a good idea, but I think the scoreboards would be dominated by str builds and cav. You know, like it already is.

Too easy to exploit.
What is there to exploit? Scores? I guess people must be really desperate to exploit something that doesn't even have an actual benefit to their character.

Idea would be if there was a way to track succesful hits.

Then take damage, hits, kills and levels as variables and create a formula which will give points as result.

Too easy to exploit.

The current system is easy to exploit (just go for easy kills and stay away from anyone who poses a bigger threat).
This point system however is almost impossible to exploit. How would you do it? Tell me.

This point system would reward both good and bad players.
The current system totally sucks imo.

Seems complicated. I'd say it'll be fine once individual kills are rewarded instead of muliplyer each minute.

Actually I think individual kills should count less and round wins more.
Let's say a round win is worth 5 kills. Then people wouldn't chase easy kills that much but instead help the team win teh round instead.
