Single Player
Number 1, CoOP.
Number 2, More depth. This is not a game for weaklings. The people that play this want depth, otherwise they'd play WoTR or Cod.
Number 3, Siege options. The player has to build or buy siege equipment (ladders, catapults, siege towers, etc.) Then choose what to deploy and how many.
Number 4, Initial confrontation fix. Allow us to choose which troops to have in the battle, along with how many. Also allow us to have a 30 second "prepare" or even have a birds eye view of the map before hand and place your troops, kind of like the Total War series.
Number 5, The ability to start your own kingdom and customize the troops, (armor, weapons, ranks, STATS[based on level.])
Number 6, Improved AI.
Number 7, Ability to build your own castle, wherever you want; costing you "denars" of course.
Number 8, More fief managment and constructions in general. Trade options and "true" diplomacy, (allies, enemies, vassels.)
Number 9, More equipment. I mean who doesn't want more to choose from. (weapons, armors, horses, siege equipment.)
Number 10, More quests. Long lasting in-depth quests, and short a like, and maybe a "true" campaign.
Number 11, (my favorite number  :P ) The more options the player has, generally the better the game is. More depth and choice to be who you want and do what you want while still playing the game the way it's supposed to be played.
Number 12, More factions and a bigger map.

with love, :]
i like all this! but ill add some suggestions if not mentioned:
they should make the building of defenses in you're kingdom(single player with co op if possible) more dynamic like building walls around you're borders or watch towers(also being able to destroy those also in enemy factions)
like someone said before have a divided equipment from troops and make it that they keep their quality even if given to another friendly lord fighting for you're faction. As in make AI fighting each other not only be counted by quantity but quality also.
(single with coop if possible)Better army ranking system
have better options on siege but make it that it will cost more(gold) to use a siege tower, a battle ram, catapults and etc.
better recruiting system were you get more recruits by renown value with the relationship with town/village ,also make it that you get better recruits as you become more renowned or randomized  level of them(but we gotta remember well trained troops if they add dynamics of equipment in doesn't count much)
The terrain should be more dynamic as like deserts or snowy regions have effect on army morale or health(i don't like how total war series made it so make it different), also running into enemies built defenses causes initial damage to troops.

New great warband mode.

Super realistic graphics, but sadly not change in physics or AI.

More weapons, armor, better AI, better scene editor, more props to work with, and better physics even though they are alright. Better responsiveness to hitting someone would be cool.

The graphics in Warband are fine imo, they look pretty good maxed out anyways. Also it helps the lower end guys play a great game with 100+ ppl on a server, or 200+ singleplayer battles.

For me, the #1 need for this game is much improved A.I. over Warband.

Better AI as in knowing when to dismount and mount horses, when to switch weapons, blocking, swinging, even just moving around.

In addition to that, I really want them to improve the AI enough that they don't have to rely on 'cheating'. It's kinda bullshit when enemies can just swing through each other with no repercussions. AI should naturally try to move to within the optimal range for the weapon they're using instead of hugging you. This would also hopefully prevent conga lines.

The main thing that I want is just better graphics and better animations. Rome 2 Total War will have more detail in their troops like more polygons than Warband right now. The native animations are crap. Just add better looking swings, running, and walking animations and the mod community will do the rest.

I started a new native singleplayer campaign and here are my thoughts.

- We need better AI prioritizing. If one enemy walks by my army while there are like 50 other enemies right in front of them most of them will turn around and chase after him.

- Better hitboxes, not much with player models but with trees and other things.

- The animations are ok imo.

- More options for running your kingdom, a lot more. ( I have diplomacy )

- Lords can be killed but they can have a lot of sons to replace them after a few days or a week.

- Kings can be overthrown and you can become ruler of that kingdom, but you have to fight the lord's still with the king and take their lands. Requires a lot of support and other circumstances, might be better off just starting your own kingdom.

- It would be nice to have battle formations, and let smart tactics a actually work out well.

- Sieges should have more options. WFAS kinda touched on it though but not by much.

- Starting locations should be better in sieges when you are attacking, sometimes I spawn so far away my men get raped by ranged and my reinforcements arrive too late.

- Better dynamic reinforcement spawning for siege defense, so that the enemies don't keep spawning on top of your guys.

- Better mix of units in a battle. It's usually like first wave is mediocre, second is ok, third is ok, rest are all high tier troops. To me when I bring my kingdom's army to a siege when we attack we bring a mix of good troops and they get crappier the more reinforcements we get. But the enemy gets better and better the more you kill, it's really annoying.

- Make a cavalry charge actually seem scary, usually it's just oh they charged and then all the cavalry stops in place just swinging at the troops.

- A better morale system would be nice.

- Stop the AI from facehugging all the time. If there are more than two enemies of you in a small place you can barely swing.

- The most annoying problem I have playing Warband has to do with a part in siege. If i'm sieging a castle/town and just won the walls it still says you have to fight them in the streets, not a big problem but it can be difficult. But the worst part is when it says "the remaining enemies have retreated to the keep", now this is the part that can make you lose a siege. They only give you two allies who are most likely crappy troops versus five or six of their best troops, and usually you will have really really low health since you just fought for the streets and walls. It's like I have 800 men remaining they have 10 left but I can only bring two with me into the keep to help me beat the last few left.........and if I lose in the keep or streets I lose the siege..........really!

- More armors and weapons!

- Better battlefields!

- Graphics are actually very nice looking at max, no need to improve them really, especially since even high end pc's have trouble with 400 man battles with max settings.

- Better commands to your troops in battle.

- More voice actors but not like something where everyone talks in Skyrim, the text thing is ok I guess, just different people yelling and saying random things now and then would be nice to hear.

- Better more epic ambient and battle sounds. Better sounds overall!

- Smarter AI commanders.

- Smarter troops AI where they actually choose which direction to swing ( may not be possible ). Troops can actually re-mount their horses, stab properly and get in range and swing properly.

actually this fights in the keep and on street were always my favourites in single player...

By the time you besiege towns and castles with your own armies, you will kill most AI with a single hit.

UNLESS you do some very weird build.

UNLESS you do some very weird build know how to get a decent enough siege army quickly.

This game isn't about being skillful as much as its about saying things in general chat that enrage people who then go to murder you but in their rage they make dumb mistakes which gets them killed.

Sure you can just get 43287423984623 Rhodok Sharpshooters and fire at the walls, when they run out of ammo, retreat, and repeat.
