Losing Multiplier in Spectator

It's stupid how you lose multiplier in spectator now. Even if you didn't spawn and click on a team, and they happen to lose, you lose your multiplier. If a map ends and you have a x5 (or any other multiplier), and you don't even spawn the next map, being in spectator will make you lose your multiplier as well.

It's like "KEEP PLAYING UNTIL YOU LOSE YOUR MULTIPLIER OR YOU'LL WASTE IT BECAUSE IT WILL GO AWAY ON ITS OWN."

I agree, It sucks when you gotta get up for a minute and you have to spectate or be accused of leeching.

I concur.. It would also be great if you could carry multi to another server...

You're level 35 or something ridiculous anyway, it's not like you're going to notice much.

Although apparently somehow it was being "abused". I suppose if you were a good gambler you could abuse it the second round of a map.

Before there was no abusing. I don't get what's wrong with what it was before. I'm level 34, so no, my multiplier is not useless. It gives me gold and experience, which I need. I have 24 mil to 35.

I agree. It sucks. I don't care if there are dudes abusing any flaws in the system. I just want to be able to grab a Coca-Cola and take a piss in between rounds that I survive.

I can't see why it wouldn't work, all it needs to do is save your multiplier value in the database. Reset it to 0 upon round lost. Shouldn't be too much bandwidth/pressure.

The only issue IMO would be when one should disconnect to save the multiplier, e.g. when a map ends, or when a round ends:
  • Round ends = not much time to D/C.
  • Map ends = you end up as spectator and can D/C safely.
I personally think it it would be better to encourage it after maps instead of after rounds anyway.

Completely? No team bonus for winning a round, no sort of "multiplier value" that could be carried upon disconnect prior to a round/map beginning?
