What would be the reason for that new crossbow? Do you have a nice modell for it? Otherwise we would need someone to create one... :p (or slight changes to make it look amazing)

With 18 STR Requirement theres quite some wpf needed to get some decent shots in. That means this crossbow would be better for higher levels. 8-9 WM? 7 at least for some good shots I bet.

Oh and so slow! Im already hating the reload time for a WM arba :P

edit. ye, didnt notice the dmg. 120 PIERCE is quite too strong. thats a 1hit for most people.

Why not just increase the damage on the arbalest and make it 3 slots and then slightly increase the damage on heavy xbow and leave it 2 slots?

Hey, let's add a new bow, let's call it siege longbow, let's make it require 5 PD, take 1 slot, but make it 5 times more accurate, more damaging, and more fast.
This will not nerf other bows in any way.
1H stab is the fastest, strongest and longest 1H animation. There's no reason NOT to use it in all instances. I don't know if it's OP, but it's boring. 1H used to be fun because you had a fast (left), long (right) and the most devastating attack (stab) and had to choose the best attack for each occasion.

The goal of Strategus battles shouldnt be to deprive your enemies of players, but to have full roster both sides and have the gear/tactics/strategy win the day rather than lack of merc support.

But then the looms and market was introduced, and the mood somehow changed.
The supremacy of crossbows over bows is historicaly correct, no arguing there.
However it makes throwing and archery look silly and inefficient.
I think crpg would be more fun without crossbows, but adding 1 more doesnt really change the status quo.
Should be a really big one, stationary once deployed. Maybe use a horseslot?

Honestly a long bow is a superior weapon in terms of performance, but it requires like a lifetime of training compared to crossbow requiring quite a little of training while retaining good performance.

But yeah, it's nitpicking. Game balance should be game balance, not realism.
