I really like when a clan picks a theme that actually makes some sort of historical sense and i was really pleasantly surprised to see you guys change from my old friends/bandits to saracens. Now i'm even more glad to see you actually going one step further and introducing these saracen armors. Way to go, + 1 from me =).
Well to tell you the truth - we're doing it with a memory of your lobbying success in our minds, they added Byzantium equipment when it was demanded, before it they added Russian stuff and Turkish stuff so i don't see a single reason good enough to turn all of this down, Pancake invested some effort into browsing the TW forum and collecting all that extra equipment info so he could post it in one thread and when you look at it - it's all serious business, no fantasy crap and dubious models. No reason not to add at least some of these things into cRPG. The more still equals the better, if I'm not mistaken.
Oh and yes, I think the same as you Ujin - they say this is a fantasy game and that realism doesn't matter but those factions are clearly based on human history, the fact that its called Calradia, Sarranids, Nords, etc doesn't mean we shouldn't go for realism and historical accuracy, after all we're all here because we're fed up with fantasy bullshit and want to play a proper game for a change, without magic, "invented" stuff, etc. I prefer historical accuracy & realism above all and i would love to see a game like this with proper role-plays and dedicated time-line (lets say Crusades +- 200 years with possible older age stuff (since for all we know they might of still used some of it) but without plates, heavy armors, firearms, etc. I could write an essay here but you know what i mean.
